If a community has had notice for more than a year that an area has been identified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as having special flood hazards, the Contractor agrees that CDBG funds cannot be spent for acquisition or construction purposes in the area unless the community is participating in the National Flood Insurance Program and such insurance has been purchased for the properties in question.
A General Information Notice should be sent to any active residents as soon as is feasible at the time of submission of the initial application for CDBG funds.
This project does not immediately trigger the environmental requirement to maintain flood insurance for the CDBG assisted property.
Real or personal property purchased in whole or in part with CDBG funds shall not be disposed through sale, use, or location without the written permission of the City and/or HUD as applicable.
