Business Area definition

Business Area means the sale, distribution or attempted sale or distribution of books, textbooks, periodicals, newspapers, digital or audio versions of any of the foregoing or e-reading devices and related software. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the restrictions of this Section 4.1 shall not apply to the placement of general advertisements or the use of general search firm services with respect to a particular geographic area, but which are not targeted, directly or indirectly, towards employees of the Company or any of its subsidiaries.
Business Area means an adjacent area that is zoned by a state, county, township, or municipal zoning authority for industrial or commercial purposes, customarily referred to as "b" or business, "c" or commercial, "i" or industrial, "m" or manufacturing, and "s" or service, and all other similar classifications and that is within a city, village, or charter township or is within 1 mile of the corporate limits of a city, village, or charter township or is beyond 1 mile of the corporate limits of a city, village, or charter township and contains 1 or more permanent structures devoted to the industrial or commercial purposes described in this subdivision and that extends along the highway a distance of 800 feet beyond each edge of the activity. Each side of the highway is considered separately in applying this definition except that where it is not topographically feasible for a sign or sign structure to be erected or maintained on the same side of the highway as the permanent structure devoted to industrial or commercial purposes, a business area may be established on the opposite side of a primary highway in an area zoned commercial or industrial or in an unzoned area with the approval of the state highway commission. A permanent structure devoted to industrial or commercial purposes does not result in the establishment of a business area on both sides of the highway. All measurements shall be from the outer edge of the regularly used building, parking lot, or storage or processing area of the commercial or industrial activity and not from the property lines of the activities and shall be along or parallel to the edge or pavement of the highway. Commercial or industrial purposes are those activities generally restricted to commercial or industrial zones in jurisdictions that have zoning. In addition, the following activities are not commercial or industrial:
Business Area means any part of an adjacent area which is zoned for business, industrial or commercial activities under the authority of the laws of this state; or not zoned, but which consti- tutes an unzoned commercial or industrial area as defined in par.(k). In adjacent areas along the interstate system business areas shall be limited to commercial or industrial zones within the boundaries of incorporated municipalities, as those boundaries existed on September 1, 1959, and all other areas where the land− use as of September 1, 1959, was clearly established by state law as industrial or commercial.

  • In the Central Business Area only, the required number of spaces for nonresidential uses shall be 50% of the number indicated in Section 6.1.1.

  • South Central District - shall encompass the Business Area historically or traditionally served by advice centres in the trading areas of Colonsay, Davidson, Kenaston, Nokomis, Semans, Shaunavon, Simpson, Strasbourg and Watrous.

  • North East District - shall encompass the Business Area historically or traditionally served by advice centres in the trading areas of Kinistino, Lake Lenore, Melfort, Muenster, Naicam, St. Brieux and Watson.

  • East District - shall encompass the Business Area historically or traditionally served by advice centres in the trading areas of Hudson Bay, Kamsack, Lintlaw, Norquay and Porcupine Plain.

  • Saskatoon District - shall encompass the Business Area historically or traditionally served by branches in the trading area of Saskatoon.

Business Area means an area outside municipal limits embracing all of the land on the same side of the highway on which one or more commercial or industrial activities are conducted, including all land within one thousand feet measured in any direction from the nearest edge of the actual land used or occupied for such activity, including its parking, storage and service areas, its driveways and its established front, rear and side yards, constituting an integral part of such activity and which is zoned, under authority of law, primarily to permit industrial or commercial activity. However, when one or more commercial or industrial activities are located within one thousand feet of a freeway interchange, the business area shall extend three thousand feet measured in each direction parallel to the freeway from the center line of the crossroad, but shall not extend beyond the limits of the established commercial or industrial zone.
Business Area means developing, manufacturing, sourcing or supplying firearms, tactical gear, sporting accessories, shooting accessories, recreational accessories, outdoor products or small-caliber ammunition, but in each case, only with respect to products that are the same as or similar to products developed, manufactured, sourced or supplied while you are employed by the Company or any of its subsidiaries or Affiliates or any other Contemplated Business, whether directly to or to wholesale customers for resale to, the local or federal law enforcement, U.S. Government (including the U.S. Department of Defense), foreign government or consumer markets. For purposes of this Appendix B, the term “Contemplated Business” shall mean any Business with which the Company or any of its subsidiaries or Affiliates engaged in substantive discussions or entered into any contract, agreement, agreement in principle, arrangement or other similar document (including, for the avoidance of doubt, any nondisclosure or confidentiality agreement), in each case, while you are employed by the Company and with respect to a merger, joint venture, acquisition or other similar extraordinary corporate transaction between the Company or any of its subsidiaries or Affiliates on the one hand and such Business or any of its subsidiaries or Affiliates on the other hand; provided that any such merger, joint venture, acquisition or other similar extraordinary corporate transaction is consummated no later than six months following the termination of your employment. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the restrictions of this Appendix B(a) shall not apply to the placement of general advertisements or the use of general search firm services with respect to a particular geographic area, but which are not targeted, directly or indirectly, towards employees of the Company or any of its subsidiaries. Nothing in this Appendix B shall be construed as denying you the right to own securities of any corporation listed on a national securities exchange in an amount up to 5% of the outstanding number of such securities.
Business Area as used herein, means each state within the United States of America as well as each country, state, province and territory in Europe, Scandinavia, Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea and Singapore.

SBA does not restrict the business area to divisions smaller than a city or town (i.e., school, hospital, other special purpose districts, election wards and precincts, etc.).
