Built-Up Area definition

Built-Up Area and/or “Covered Areain relation to a Flat shall mean the floor area of that Flat including the area of balconies and terraces, if any attached thereto, and also the thickness of the walls (external or internal) and the columns and pillars therein Provided That if any wall, column or pillar be common between two Flats, then one-half of the area under such wall column or pillar shall be included in the built-up area of each such Flat.
Built-Up Area means the sum of area of the Apartment or Flat. It shall include area encompassed within the walls of Apartment or Flat, all balconies, whether covered or un-covered, and thickness of wall. In case there be a common wall only 50% of thickness of such wall shall be taken in consideration for calculating the built-up area;
Built-Up Area means the area covered by a building on all floors including cantilevered portion, if any, but excepting the areas excluded specifically under these Regulations.

More Definitions of Built-Up Area

Built-Up Area shall have the meaning as set out in SCDA, and if not defined in SCDA then shall mean the (a) total constructed area under roof on all floors (including underground floors) on a given piece of land in terms of local building bye laws of the Site; or (b) in the case of development of air space over any existing structure or proposed Station Development or Redevelopment Assets, the total constructed area excluding the total constructed area of the existing structure, which shall, in each case, include carpet area, thickness of walls, balconies, corridors and passages but shall not include:
Built-Up Area means any area with a substantial portion covered by industrial, commercial or residential buildings.
Built-Up Area means and include the aggregate of the Carpet Area, Balcony Area and the External Wall/Column Area.
Built-Up Area means the inner measurements of the residential unit at the floor level, including the projections and balconies, as increased by the thickness of the walls but does not include the common areas shared with other residential units;
Built-Up Area in relation to an Apartment shall mean the plinth area of that Apartment (including the area of balconies and servants quarter, if any, appurtenant thereto) and also the thickness of the walls (external and internal), the columns and pillars therein;
Built-Up Area shall, in relation to the Unit mean the net usable floor area of the Unit, including the thickness of the external walls with the walls common with common areas shall be considered in full and walls common with other units shall be considered as half and shall include balconies or verandahs;
Built-Up Area means an area with entries and exits specially sign-posted as such, or otherwise defined in domestic legislation;
