Broken Shift Means a shift worked by an Employee that includes one or more breaks (other than a meal break) and where the span of hours is not more than 12 hours.
Employees, other than casual employees, required to report to work twice per day, as notified via University published roster, will be paid the following extra rate: Broken Shift Allowance $13.05 per day.
A shift is considered a Broken Shift when a period of more than 1.5 hours lapses between the two spells of duty.
Time off between shifts Unless an agreement is reached under clause 27.4(c), or an employee has worked on a Sleepover in accordance with clause 39, or is working on a Broken Shift in accordance with clause 38, an employee is entitled to a 10 hour rest period between the completion of one shift, or period of work, and the commencement of their next shift.
