Basic Pilot Program definition
Basic Pilot Program. Contractor agrees to verify the work eligibility of all of Contractor’s newly hired employees through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Employment Eligibility Verification (EEV)/Basic Pilot Program, accessed through the Internet at ▇▇▇▇://▇▇▇.▇▇▇.▇▇▇/files/programs/gc_1185221678150.shtm in accordance with the provisions and timeline found in O.C.G.A. 13-10-91 and Rule 300-10-1-.02 of the Rules and Regulations of the State of Georgia. As of July 1, 2007, the verification requirement applies to contractors and subcontractors with five-hundred (500) or more employees.
Basic Pilot Program means the electronic verification of work authorization program of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigration Responsibility Act of 1996, P.L. 104-208, Division C, Section 403(a); United States Code Title 8, subsection 1324a, and operated by the United States Department of Homeland Security (or a successor program established by the federal government.)
Basic Pilot Program means the basic pilot employment verification program created in Public Law 208, 104th Congress, as amended, and expanded in Public Law 156, 108th Congress, as amended, that is administered by the United States Department of Homeland Security.

If the Contractor is not accepted into the Basic Pilot Program prior to executing this contract, the Contractor shall apply to participate in the Basic Pilot Program every three months until the contractor is accepted or this contract has been completed, whichever is earlier. The Contractor shall not use the Basic Pilot Program procedures to undertake pre- employment screening of job applicants while this contract is being performed. This paragraph shall not be effective if the Basic Pilot Program is discontinued. If the Contractor obtains actual knowledge that a subcontractor performing work under this contract knowingly employs or contracts with any worker without authorization, the contractor shall notify the subcontractor and the Town within three days that the Contractor has actual knowledge that the subcontractor is employing or contracting with a worker without authorization; and terminate the subcontract with the subcontractor if within three days of receiving the notice required pursuant to this paragraph, the subcontractor does not stop employing or contracting with the worker without authorization. The Contractor shall not terminate the contract with the subcontractor if during such three days the subcontractor provides information to establish that the subcontractor has not knowingly employed or contracted with a worker without authorization. The Contractor shall also comply with any reasonable request by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment made in the course of an investigation that the department is undertaking pursuant to C.R.S. 8-17.5-102(2).
