Backwards Compatible definition

Backwards Compatible or "Backwards Compatibility" means: (i) with respect to new Software Maintenance Releases, Software Upgrades, Software Combined Releases and Software Enhancements, the ability of each of the two (2) prior older versions of Software to remain fully functional in accordance with and up to the performance levels to which each was performing immediately prior to the integration with the new Software Maintenance Release, Software Upgrade, Software Combined Releases and/or Software Enhancement, and the ability of such new Software Maintenance Release, Software Upgrade, Software Combined Release and/or Software Enhancement to interoperate and be compatible with all such functionality of such prior Software versions and with all existing in-service Vendor provided Products already installed in the System; (ii) with respect to all Equipment Upgrades, and Equipment Combined Releases to the extent of that portion of the Equipment Combined Release which is the Equipment Upgrade or the use of which by Owner is not optional without losing the benefit of the Equipment Upgrade (for purposes of this Contract, a "New Equipment Release" means collectively the Equipment Upgrade and such non-optional portion of the Equipment Combined Release), the ability of the existing infrastructure to remain fully functional in accordance with and up to the performance levels to which it was performing immediately prior to the integration with the New Equipment Release, and the ability of the New Equipment Release to interoperate and be fully compatible with all such functionality of such existing infrastructure; and (iii) with respect to each of Software Maintenance Releases, Software Upgrades, Software Combined Releases, Software Enhancements and New Equipment Releases, the ability of such Products to comply with the existing interfaces to other third party equipment already deployed in the System and with respect to which Vendor is already in compliance prior to the introduction of the Software Maintenance Releases, Software Upgrades, Software Combined Releases, Software Enhancements and New Equipment Releases.
Backwards Compatible or “Backwards Compatibility” means that if certain components of a Software Product are upgraded, the Software Product will remain compliant with this Fourteenth Amendment and the upgraded Software Product components will inter-operate with all previous components of the Software Product.
Backwards Compatible means (i) with respect to Software, the ability of newer or more advanced versions to function seamlessly with older or less advanced version of Software and, Products, including without limitation, all existing Software and Products purchased by Buyer and (ii) with respect to Equipment the interoperability and compatibility of such Equipment with existing Products purchased by Buyer and Buyer's network infrastructure, in each case resulting in no reduction in the existing level of functionality of the existing Products or Buyer's network infrastructure.

More Definitions of Backwards Compatible

Backwards Compatible means (i) with respect to Licensed Materials, the ability of newer or more advanced versions to function seamlessly with the two prior older or less advanced versions of Software or other Licensed Materials and with all existing in-service Seller Provided Products already installed in the Network, and (ii) with respect to Seller Provided Products, the interoperability and compatibility of such Seller Provided Products with existing infrastructure resulting in no reduction in the existing level of functionality of the existing infrastructure. For the purposes of this definition, any particular version of Licensed Materials shall mean only a Software Upgrade or Software Enhancement.
Backwards Compatible means that any ------------------------------------------------- referenced prior Software Revision Level or Levels of the applicable Software and any referenced prior Equipment Revision Level or Levels of the applicable Equipment, as the case may be, remain fully functional in accordance with and up to the performance levels to which it was performing immediately prior to any such enhancement and/or revision after the integration with the succeeding Software Revision Level or Equipment Revision Level, as the case may be, and that after such integration such prior Software Revision Level or Equipment Revision Level loses no functionality and such succeeding Software Revision Level or Equipment Revision Level interoperates with all such functionalities of such prior Software Revision Level or Equipment Revision Level.

Backwards Compatible means that any referenced prior Software revision level or levels of the applicable Software or any referenced prior Hardware revision level or levels of the applicable Hardware, as the case may be, remains fully functional in accordance with and up to the performance and capacity levels to which it was performing immediately prior to any such enhancement and/or revision after the integration with the succeeding Software revision level or Hardware revision level, as the case may be, and that after such integration such prior Software revision level or Hardware revision level loses no functionality and such succeeding Software revision level or Hardware revision level fully works and operates with all such functionalities of such prior Software revision level or Hardware revision level.

Software and Equipment shall be compatible with the current Software Release and at least two (2) immediately preceding Major Software Releases.
Backwards Compatible means that when the Upgraded Products are installed, provisioned and integrated into Customer’s system of products, software and services, that each Upgraded Product will have all functionality possessed by the prior version of the Product, and that the prior version of the Product has not lost any functionality, and that both the prior version of the Product and the Upgraded Product successfully interface and interoperate with all other Customer products, software, and services as the prior version, whether internal or facing the End-User. Customer may request, and CalAmp will provide up to ten (10) Product demonstration units for newly released Upgraded Product to be provided by CalAmp at no charge, prior to placing an Order for the Upgraded Product. CalAmp will not fill existing Orders with Upgraded Products without Customer’s prior written approval, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. CalAmp will certify that all types of Product approval certifications described in Section 6.3 below remain valid and effective as a result of any alternative components, functional enhancements or other changes.
