More Definitions of AUTHORIZING OFFICER

AUTHORIZING OFFICER means, with respect to a contracting authority that is a public authority, (i) the highest ranking civil servant in such public authority, or (ii) if no employee of such public authority has the status of a civil servant, the highest ranking employee in such public authority whose employment is not the result of a political appointment. “Authorizing Officer” shall mean, with respect to a contracting authority that is not a public authority, the highest ranking person in charge of the day-to-day management of such contracting authority.
