Authorized Leave definition

Authorized Leave means any leave of absence (paid or unpaid) approved in writing by the Corporation for a period of more than four (4) weeks that occurs while an RSU Participant continues to be employed as an employee by the Corporation or retained as a Consultant by the Corporation and includes any parental leave, short term disability, or other bona fide paid or unpaid leave of absence or sabbatical period;
Authorized Leave means (i) in respect of an employee of the Corporation or an Affiliate any approved leave of absence (paid or unpaid) for a period of equal to or more than 45 days, and includes any statutory leave, short term or long term disability leave, approved sabbatical or other approved bona fide paid or unpaid leave of absence, but for certainty does not cover any period of vacation, and (ii) in respect of a Consultant to the Corporation or an Affiliate any approved leave of absence for a period of equal to or more than 45 days. For the purpose of the Plan, an employee’s or Consultant’s period of Authorized Leave will end on the earliest of (A) Authorized Leave Return Date, (B) the date of death, (C) the date on which the employee resigns from employment or the Consultant resigns from their engagement, (D) the date on which the employee is terminated for Cause, (E) the date which is the end of the minimum statutory notice period (if any) that follows the date on which the Corporation or Affiliate terminates the employment of an employee without Cause and for certainty, shall exclude any other period that follows or ought to have followed the end of the minimum statutory notice period, and (F) the date on which the Consultant’s services are terminated by the Corporation or an Affiliate, regardless of the reason. Such date referred to in the foregoing clauses (A) through (F), for the purpose of this Plan be deemed to be the last day of Active Employment or Active Engagement, as the case may be;
Authorized Leave means a Business Employee’s absence from work covered under (a) a written long-term or short-term disability Seller Benefit Plan, or (b) any workers compensation leave program, military leave program or other Seller authorized leave of absence other than the use of vacation time or paid time off.

Examples of Authorized Leave in a sentence

  • All contributions on behalf of the Participant shall be suspended, but membership in the Plan shall be deemed to be continuous, unless otherwise terminated, for the period of any Authorized Leave of Absence, provided that the Employee returns to work for the Employer upon completion of such Authorized Leave of Absence.

  • An Employee shall receive no Service credit under Section 3.1 or 3.2 during any Authorized Leave of Absence.

  • Association members serving as representatives or participants in a grievance shall also be granted District Authorized Leave upon request.

  • However, upon request the grievant and his/her representative(s) shall be granted District Authorized Leave to present his/her grievance during his/her regularly scheduled hours of work without loss of pay if this is the only time mutually available for grievance processes.

  • Any employee witnesses required to appear in connection with this article shall be granted District Authorized Leave to present their testimony and shall suffer no loss of pay during the time required for testimony.

  • District Authorized Leave may be granted for any length of time, though it is designed for participation in non-recurring short-term events or activities.

  • No more than 501 Hours of Service shall be credited under this paragraph for any single continuous period of absence (whether or not such period occurs in a single computation period) unless the Employee's absence is not an Authorized Leave of Absence.

  • The Superintendent/President or his designee may grant District Authorized Leave to Association representatives to attend to Association business or to participate in state or national affiliate conferences or conventions that are deemed to be beneficial to the District.

  • Notwithstanding the foregoing, if such maternity or paternity leave constitutes an Authorized Leave of Absence, such leave shall not be considered part of a Break in Service.

  • An Employee on an Authorized Leave of Absence shall remain a Participant in the Plan and, in the case of a paid Authorized Leave of Absence, shall have deductions made under Section 8.1 from payments that would, but for the Authorized Leave of Absence, be Base Earnings.


More Definitions of Authorized Leave

Authorized Leave means a period during which the Member is not actively at work and in respect of which Company contributions are being made under the registered pension plan known as the Pension Plan for the Employees of Genworth Financial Canada.
Authorized Leave from a Committee meeting means an approved absence that is beyond an individual’s control, such as bereavement; serving as a juror or witness, or as the parent or guardian of a minor who has been compelled to attend court to serve as a witness in any court; an illness that has prevented a member to attend two or more consecutive meetings; hospitalization and caring for a sick child or parent.
Authorized Leave means leave granted for a specified period of time and for which the employee has requested and obtained authorization in advance from the human resources associate.
Authorized Leave is defined as a leave granted by the College in accordance with this agreement and specifically excludes the SURS disability leave. The time limit for continued payment of group insurance does not apply when the employee’s cause of absence is determined by the College’s workers’ compensation carrier to be a work-related injury or illness.
Authorized Leave shall be defined to mean permission for absence the day prior to or immediately following the paid holiday.
Authorized Leave means an authorized leave of absence determined in accordance with the human resource policies and procedures of the Company or its applicable Affiliate.

  • Authorized leave of absence means an unpaid, temporary cessation from active employment with the Employer pursuant to an established nondiscriminatory policy, whether occasioned by illness, military service, or any other reason.

  • authorized LEA representative means a LEA administrator designated to be responsible for nonpublic school/agencies. It is understood, a representative of the Special Education Plan Local Area (SELPA) of which the LEA is a member is an authorized LEA representative in collaboration with the LEA.   • Approved Leave of Absence means a leave of absence that has been approved by the applicable Participating Company in such a manner as the Board may determine from time to time.

The total Hours of Service required to be credited for a "maternity or paternity leave of absence" shall not exceed 501.

  • Pregnancy Leave means leave taken for purposes related to giving birth and/or recovering therefrom.

  • Accumulated leave means the period of time that is accumulated under the Plan as leave during a work period.

  • Requisition means any temporary requisition or confiscation of the use or occupancy of any of the Leased Premises by any governmental authority, civil or military, whether pursuant to an agreement with such governmental authority in settlement of or under threat of any such requisition or confiscation, or otherwise.

  • FMLA Leave means a leave of absence, which the Company is required to extend to an Employee under the provisions of the FMLA.

  • Bereavement Leave means "a leave of absence granted to an employee upon a death occurring in the employee's Immediate Family.”

  • Administrative leave means placing an employee on leave pursuant to state law. Nothing in the Title IX regulations precludes a recipient from placing a non-student employee respondent on administrative leave during the pendency of a grievance process, provided that Massachusetts laws are followed.

  • Paid leave means time away from work by an employee for which the employee receives compensation, and is limited to sick time, vacation time, compensatory time and leave that is provided as an aggregate amount for use at the discretion of the employee for any of these same purposes.   • Manual Load Dump Action means an Operating Instruction, as defined by NERC, from PJM to shed firm load when the PJM Region cannot provide adequate capacity to meet the PJM Region’s load and tie schedules, or to alleviate critically overloaded transmission lines or other equipment. Manual Load Dump Warning:

  • Medical leave means leave of up to a total of 12 workweeks in a 12-month period because of an employee’s own serious health condition that makes the employee unable to work at all or unable to perform any one or more of the essential functions of the position of that employee. The term “essential functions” is defined in Government Code section 12926. “Medical leave” does not include leave taken for an employee’s pregnancy disability, as defined in (n) below, except as specified below in section 11093(c)(1).

  • Prospective state contractor means a person, business entity or nonprofit organization that (i) submits a response to a state contract solicitation by the state, a state agency or a quasi-public agency, or a proposal in response to a request for proposals by the state, a state agency or a quasi-public agency, until the contract has been entered into, or (ii) holds a valid prequalification certificate issued by the Commissioner of Administrative Services under section 4a-100. "Prospective state contractor" does not include a municipality or any other political subdivision of the state, including any entities or associations duly created by the municipality or political subdivision exclusively amongst themselves to further any purpose authorized by statute or charter, or an employee in the executive or legislative branch of state government or a quasi-public agency, whether in the classified or unclassified service and full or part-time, and only in such person's capacity as a state or quasi-public agency employee.

  • Medically Necessary Leave of Absence means any change in enrollment at the post-secondary school that begins while the child is suffering from a serious illness or injury, is medically necessary, and causes the child to lose student status for purposes of coverage under the Plan.

  • Authorized Employee means an employee of Processor who has a need to know or otherwise access Personal Data to enable Processor to perform their obligations under this Addendum or the Agreement.

  • Authorized entity means a nonprofit organization or a governmental agency that has a primary mission to provide specialized services relating to training, education, or adaptive reading or information access needs of blind or other persons with disabilities;
