Acting appointment definition

Acting appointment means an appointment by the Mayor to be the appointing authority of an employing unit, either pending confirmation by the City Council or on an interim basis pending the nomination of the Mayor’s candidate for confirmation.
Acting appointment means the temporary appointment of an officer whether on promotion to a higher office or otherwise whether that office is vacant or not;
