Accredited Service definition
Accredited Service means the period of time taken into account under the terms of the Retirement Plan for the purpose of computing a Retirement Plan benefit under the Final Average Pay Formula.
Accredited Service means with respect to any Employee included in the Plan, the period of service as provided in Article IV.
Accredited Service means the aggregate of the years and months of active employment in the service of the Company, its predecessors, its associated companies or companies affiliated with Citizens Utilities Corporation that is recognized for service purposes. Accredited service shall include all active employment for which a wage or salary was paid, such as paid vacation, holidays, and jury duty and time lost due to military service or through service in the Armed Forces, or in a layoff status not to exceed twenty-four (24) months, and any additional excused absent time or leave of absence time that has been or will be specifically approved for service credit purposes in accordance with the policy, procedures or published statements established by the Company.
3.26.1 Time lost through absences from work by reason of accident disability or illness disability shall be considered as active employment during the periods that disability benefits are paid under the Benefits Plan.
3.26.2 Accredited service for part-time employees shall be computed on a proportionate basis according to weekly scheduled hours worked as related to the normal full time work week.
3.26.3 Time lost through absences for Union business as approved in accord with Article 17, Section 3 of this Agreement shall be considered as active employment for the purpose of computing accredited service.
Examples of Accredited Service in a sentence
Accredited Service includes any time worked either in the bargaining unit or in management, or in other positions outside the bargaining unit, as recognized under the terms of the applicable pension plan.
Employees who are rehired following disability will have their Accredited Service immediately bridged if they return to work within two (2) years of their termination.
The bridged date establishes the length of Accredited Service with the Company.
Accredited Service will be bridged for previous employees of the Company who have not exercised a pension (if any) and are rehired.

More Definitions of Accredited Service
Accredited Service or “Service” means the total of all periods of service as a regular or temporary employee of the Company or as an employee of a predecessor or affiliate company. It does not include periods of layoff, leaves of absence in excess of thirty (30) days duration or a long term disability absence longer than two (2) years.
