Aboriginal Group definition

Aboriginal Group includes any Indian or Indian Band (as those terms are defined in the Indian Act (Canada), First Nation person or people, Métis person or people, aboriginal person or people, native person or people, indigenous person or people, or any person or group asserting or otherwise claiming an aboriginal right (including aboriginal title) or any other aboriginal or Métis interest, and any person or group representing, or purporting to represent, any of the foregoing;
Aboriginal Group means any First Nation, Métis community, aboriginal group or person, Indian Act band, tribal council, band council or other aboriginal organization in Canada.
Aboriginal Group means a collectivity of Indian, Inuit or Métis people that holds or may hold Aboriginal or treaty rights under section 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982;

  • The Recipient acknowledges and agrees that the provision of any Funds under this Agreement is strictly conditional upon the Province satisfying any obligations it may have to consult with and, if appropriate, accommodate any Aboriginal Group with an interest in any Project in which Funds are directed in order for the Project to proceed.
