3i means 3i Group plc and its Affiliates from time to time, funds managed or advised by 3i Group plc and/or any of its Affiliates from time to time, participants in funds managed or advised by 3i Group plc and/or any of its Affiliates from time to time, participants in other funds where those other funds are participants in funds managed or advised by 3i Group plc and/or any of its Affiliates from time to time, and any company or business in which any fund managed or advised by 3i Group plc and/or any of its Affiliates from time to time has invested.

3i food’ means any substance, whether processed, partially processed or unprocessed, which is intended for human consumption and includes primary food, to the extent defined in clause (ZK) genetically modified or engineered food or food containing such ingredients, infant food, packaged drinking water, alcoholic drink, chewing gum, and any substance, including water used into the food during its manufacture, preparation or treatment but does not include any animal food, live animals unless they are prepared or processed for placing on the market for human consumption, plants prior to harvesting, drugs and medicinal products, cosmetics, narcotic or phychotropic substances: Provided that the Central Government may declare, by notification in the Official Gazette, any other article as food for the purpose of this Act having regard to its use, nature, substance or quality;”
3i mutawalli” means any person appointed, either verbally or under any deed or instrument by which a wakf has been created, or by a competent authority, to be the mutawalli of a wakf and includes any person who is a mutawalli of a wakf by virtue of any custom or who is a naib-mutawalli, khadim, mujawar, sajjadanashin, amin or other person appointed by a mutawalli to perform the duties of a mutawalli and save as otherwise provided in this Act, any person, committee or corporation for the time being managing or administering any wakf or wakf property.
