On August 23, 2018, the Board of School Trustees approved a Landscape Conversion Agreement (Agreement) between the Clark County School District (District) and the Southern Nevada Water District Authority (Authority). The Agreement is for the Authority’s Water Smart Landscapes Program (Program), whereby schools are eligible to permanently reduce their water consumption demands by converting irrigated turf grass to drought-tolerate landscaping or planting a garden. The program accomplishes its goal by making incentive payments to the schools in the form of rebates. In order to retain the rebate, the Authority requires a Conservation Easement be recorded against the property.
