Beginning at where Xxx 00 intersects with Hwy 15 at the shores of Lake Erie near Morpeth draw a line in a north/western direction through Louisville, Tupperville to where Xxx 00 intersects with Hwy 33 near Walpole Island. Follow Hwy 33 in a northern direction to the shores of the Xx. Xxxxx Xxxxx xx Xxxx Xxxxxxx. Follow the St. Clair River north to the mouth of Lake Huron at Point Xxxxxx. From Point Xxxxxx follow the Lake Huron shoreline north through Kettle Point, Grand Bend, Bayfield and ending at Goderich. Western Boundary. The 1755 description starts "at the head or source of the burn of Auldinny" (now Allt Dinnie). The Birse parish boundary comes up the burn from the River Dee to a small hill top (466m) at its head. This hill top, which appears to have no recorded name, is the north-west corner of the Commonty. The boundary is then described as going "south as wind and weather shears" along the Water of Feugh catchment boundary "to the place called the Stock". This is the Slochd, the pass where the Fungle track crosses between the Forest of Birse and Xxxx Esk. Southern Boundary The boundary then continues to follow the Feugh catchment "south and east till it reach to the Lairds burn or the Xxxxxx burn of Forkens". The West Forkens burn (now the Glaspits burn) is one of three xxxxx that come together to form the Xxxxx'x burn. The other two are the Mid burn and a burn that appears to have no recorded name, but which might have been known as the Easter Forkens burn. Eastern Boundary The boundary comes down the Glaspits burn and Xxxxx'x burn to the Feugh and then "northward up the east sholder of the hill of Finlett to a cairn called the cairn of Glenfarich". 1 The external perimeter of the Forest of Birse Commonty is roughly 25 kilometres long. 2 These maps are also on the BCT website.
Western Boundary. From a point where the Nat River and the Groundhog River converge, South following the Groundhog River to Groundhog Lake, following the West shore of Groundhog Lake, continuing South along the Western shore of Horwood Lake to the Woman river. Following the Woman River in a southerly direction through Opeepeeway Lake to a point where the Woman River crosses HWY 560. From the point where the Woman River crosses HWY 560A in a South Westerly direction to the Provincial district boundary of the Sudbury District and the Algoma District at a Longitude of 47’05.35N and a Latitude of 82’38.12W.

From point P-C35.9, which is the final point of the Northern boundary, you continue along the Western boundary in a true Southerly direction for a distance of 450 meters to point P-36, coordinates N: 1,000.220 and E: 501.912. From this point you continue along the boundary in a general Southwesterly direction for a distance of 7,650 meters to point P-50, coordinates N: 995.408 and E: 496.248. From this point you continue along the boundary in a general Southeasterly direction for a distance of 6,550 meters to point P-56.6, coordinates N: 991.028 and E: 501.064. From this point it you continue along the boundary in a general Southwesterly direction for a distance of 6,625 meters to point P-61.11, coordinates N: 988.760 and E: 494.892. From this point you continue along the boundary in a general Northwesterly direction for a distance of 2,900 meters to point P-64, coordinates N: 991.252 and E: 493.472. From this [initials] point you continue along the boundary in a general Southwesterly direction for a distance of 6.350 meters to point P-74, coordinates N: 985.695 and E: 490.320. From this point you continue along the boundary in a general Northwesterly direction for a distance of 900 meters to point P-75, coordinates N: 986.360 and E: 498.568. From this point you continue along the boundary in a general Southwesterly direction for a distance of 5,650 meters to point P-84, coordinates N: 982.472 and E: 485.468. From this point you continue along the boundary in a general Southwesterly direction for a distance of 6,750 meters to point P-D86, coordinates N: 977.952 and E: 481.260, which is the Westernmost point and end of the Western boundary, which has a boundary length of approximately 43.625 meters.
