Tree Pruning. The consent from Council’s Tree Management Officer must be obtained prior to the undertaking of any tree pruning works, including tree roots greater than 30mm in diameter. Only minor pruning works will be approved by Council.

Tree Pruning. 1. After obtaining a written permit from the City Forester, Verizon Wireless may prune or cause to be pruned, using proper arboricultural practices in accordance with such permit, any tree in or overhanging the Streets which interferes with Verizon Wireless's Facilities. Permit requirements for pruning are located in Portland City Code Chapter 20.40.080(E), or by contacting the City Forester's Office. Except in emergencies, Verizon Wireless may not prune trees at a point below 30 feet above sidewalk grade until one week after written notice has been given to the owner or occupant of the premises abutting the Street in or over which the tree is growing. For the purposes of this Section 6.H, an emergency exists when it is necessary to prune to protect the public from imminent danger. The owner or occupant of the premises abutting the Street shall have seven days from receipt of Verizon Wireless’ notice to prune such tree at his or her own expense. If the owner or occupant fails to do so, Verizon Wireless may prune such tree at its own expense.

The following KUB Vegetation Control Practices are in accordance with ANSI A300 and Arbor Day Foundation Tree Line USA guidelines as described in “Best management practices – Utility pruning of trees” or “Pruning Trees Near Electric Utility Lines: A Field Guide for Qualified Line-Clearance Workers” by Xx.Xxxx X. Shigo. Documentation of training in proper pruning techniques according to ANSI A300 and “BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES – UTILITY PRUNING OF TREES; SPECIAL COMPANION PUBLICATION TO THE ANSI A300 PART 1: TREE, SHRUB, AND OTHER WOODY PLANT MAINTENANCE – STANDARD PRACTICES, PRUNING” or “PRUNING TREES NEAR ELECTRIC UTILITY LINES” by Xx. Xxxx Xxxxx shall be furnished to OWNER upon OWNER’s request and at least annually for all crew members and prior to beginning work on OWNER’S system. CONTRACTOR shall be able to provide OWNER, upon OWNER’s request, documentation that all appropriate employees and/or subcontractors of CONTRACTOR have completed the above training. CONTRACTOR shall provide one of the field guides listed above (or other similar material approved by OWNER) to each crew who performs line clearance pruning, and the field guide must be carried on the truck at all times for reference. OWNER will also provide a copy of KUB’s contract tree crew guidelines for each crew. These guides shall be available at each work site as a quick reference. Specifically, the following practices shall be followed:
Tree Pruning. (private property) All pruning must be carried out by a qualified Arborist (AQF Level 3). Tree Pruning. 4.13.22.1. The Contractor, as directed by NYCDOT, shall furnish all labor, material, and equipment necessary to prune trees in accordance with the following provisions:
Tree Pruning. The PMSA shall trim all tree limbs that are damaged, unsightly, or that present unsafe conditions, and remove all debris. Also included is the trimming of all limbs within six (6) feet of any electric line, telephone line or line-of- sight for vehicular traffic, all limbs which hang below seventeen (17) feet over surfaced areas, and all limbs which overhang or touch a building or structure. All tree pruning shall be approved by a certified arborist.

Tree Pruning. Pruning of city trees shall be performed as necessary to (1) raise the lower branches to maintain a 15’ clearance above streets and roadways; (2) raise the lower branches to maintain a 7’ clearance above sidewalks and walkways; (3) to remove suckers, water sprouts, and other undesirable growth; (4) remove all dead or damaged branches; (5) eliminate visibility obstructions at corners or intersections, and (6) to clear obstructions of traffic signals. All pruning shall be done by certified professional personnel using the Western Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture pruning standards, approved methods and techniques. Excessive pruning, stubbing back, or topping will not be permitted. All pruning cuts shall be made beyond, and close to, the branch collar ring. Trees shall be cleanly cut with no tearing of the bark. Trees shall be allowed to take their natural shape whenever possible. The Contractor shall provide replacement trees, at Contractor’s expense, if trees are “topped” or if the Western Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture pruning standards are not met. The replacement tree(s) shall be replaced in size and kind of the damaged tree unless otherwise directed by the Contract Manager. The selected Contractor should understand that the City will reserve the right to contract separately for costs associated with tree pruning. The contractor may be called upon to respond for emergency removal of any down limb(s) and/or tree from the landscape areas during regular business hours.
