Senate. 17.04 The parties agree that the provisions of this Agreement shall not operate so as to infringe the powers of Senate, as set out in The York University Act, 1965, Section 12, to which all members of the University are subject. It is fur- ther agreed that if any clause of this Agreement is found to infringe the powers of Senate as so set out, that clause will be null.
Senate. (a) The President shall, in his discretion, appoint five (5) persons to the existing positions of Presidential senatorial appointments.
Senate. In the event the Vice-Chair of the Senate is a member of the Faculty Association, Vancouver Island University shall allocate to the Vice- Chair of the Senate at least one section of release time, or equivalent, for each of the Fall and Spring semesters.

Senior Laboratory Instructor Members with appointments as Senior Laboratory Instructor I, Senior Laboratory Instructor II or Senior Laboratory Instructor III. Any reference to SLI throughout the Agreement refers to a Senior Laboratory Instructor Member. Senior Laboratory Instructor Review Committee (SLIRC) Senior Laboratory Instructor Review Committee for Career Development Increments for Senior Laboratory Instructor Members (see Article 25).
Senate. 4. The Association President shall be an official observer to the Senate and shall have voice but no vote in matters of Senate business.
Senate is the Senate of Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxx University, as constituted pursuant to the Act. Spouse: except where otherwise indicated, is a person married to a Member, or cohabiting with a Member continuously for a period of not less than one (1) year. Stewards: are the Council Representatives, elected by geographically defined subgroups of Members. University: means Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxx University, and its designates, the Board of Governors of Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxx University, or any officers authorized to act on behalf of the Board, and is hereinafter referred to as the University.
Senate. The Senate of Queen's University at Kingston, as constituted by the Royal Charter of 1841 as amended from time to time. University Queen's University at Kingston as established by the Royal Charter of 1841, as amended from time to time, or any officers authorized to act on behalf of the University.
Senate. The Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate may revise the allocations of a committee or commit- tees, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in this resolution, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger, for one or more bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports by the amounts provided in such legislation, provided that such legislation would not increase the deficit for the time period of fiscal year 2022 to fiscal year 2031.
Senate. Two Members shall be elected to Senate as per Division I, Section 5 of the Statutes of the University.

Any reference to SI throughout the Agreement refers to a Senior Instructor Member. Senior Instructor Appointment and Promotions Committee (SIAPC) A committee comprising five (5) members, chaired on a rotational basis by one of the Faculty Deans, that shall make recommendation on the granting of Continuing appointment or promotion of SI members. Senior Laboratory Instructor (SLI) Members with appointments as Senior Laboratory Instructor I, Senior Laboratory Instructor II or Senior Laboratory Instructor III. Any reference to SLI throughout the Agreement refers to a Senior Laboratory Instructor Member. Senior Laboratory Instructor Appointment and Promotions Committee (SLIAPC) A committee comprising five (5) members, chaired on a rotational basis by one of the Faculty Deans, that shall make recommendation on the granting of Continuing appointment or promotion of SLI members. Sessional Instructor (SI) A person who is a member in the University of Northern British Columbia Faculty Association and whose only appointment is as a Part-time Instructor. Sessional Roster A record kept within each academic unit that lists Sessional Instructor(s) who taught courses for the academic unit, and includes the specific courses assigned to the Sessional Instructor(s).
