Work performed by members of the bargaining unit shall not be contracted out as long as a qualified employee available. to other employees of work normally performed by members of the bargaining unit shall not result in the termination, layoff or reduction in hours of any member of the bargaining unit at the time of reassignment. A full-time employee shall mean an employee covered by this agreement who is committed to and regularly and recurringly works the full work period of (75) hours, exclusive of overtime. A part-time employee is one who is committed to and regularly works less than the full prescribed hours of work.
Ottawa. No practices or customs shall become binding upon the employer unless reduced to writing and agreed to by the Association and the employer. Where a Board of Arbitration determines that a nurse has been disciplined without just cause, the Board may vary or set aside the penalty for the discipline as the Board deems reasonable. The parties may, by written agreement, substitute a sole arbitrator for the Board of Arbitration and the Arbitrator shall possess the same powers and be subject to the same limitations as a Board of Arbitration. Saturdays, Sundays and paid holidays as set out in this Agreement will not be counted computing the time within which any action to be taken or completed under the provisions of the Grievance and Arbitration procedures.
Ottawa. The parties shall appoint a Joint Consultation Committee consisting of two (2) employee representatives and two (2) management representatives. The Committee shall meet at mutually agreeable times, at least three (3) times per year, to discuss issues of concern in the workplace which affect the employees and which fall outside of the Collective Agreement. The Committee shall have the power to make recommendations to the Company with respect to issues falling outside the Collective Agreement and the Grievance Process. bargaining unit employees. A Team Captain shall not enjoy any preferential treatment, except the hourly premium described in subsection below and is subject to the same requirements as all other bargaining unit employees. A Team Captain shall be paid an hourly premium of fifteen cents ($0.15) per hour when a coach is in the Plant and thirty cents ($0.30) per hour when a coach is outside the Plant. The group shall, by secret ballot vote, determine the Team Captain. Each team shall determine the length of service that the Team Captain will serve, such period not to be less than six (6) months unless the parties agree otherwise.
