Management Trainees. The Unions will recognize education programs which may be instituted by the Employer for the purpose of training sales or management trainees. The employment of such trainees shall be for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days for in-plant training, and a period not to exceed thirty (30) days for jobsite training, or sixty (60) days for both. The provisions of Article 9, Section B. and Section C. shall not apply to any sales or management trainees while employed in an educational program under this Section.

Management Trainees. 33.01 To enhance the Co-operative’s ability to promote employees to management positions from within the existing employee group, the parties acknowledge that the Co-operative has an existing management training program. Employees who apply for and are accepted to the management training program will be bargaining unit employees as per sub-article 1.02
Management Trainees. To enhance the Co-operative’s ability to promote employees to management positions from within the existing employee group, the parties acknowledge that the Co-operative has an existing management training program. Employees who apply for and are accepted to the management training program will be bargaining unit employees as per sub-article 1.02 of this Agreement. All Management Trainees will receive, effective the date they enter the program, a Management Trainee pay differential of two ($2.00) dollars per hour for all hours worked and/or paid. This pay differential will be added to the employee’s current hourly rate. While on the program, Management Trainees will continue to progress up the wage scale of their classification based on hours worked. Should an employee not complete the Management Trainee program, they will lose the two ($2.00) dollar pay differential outlined above. Once an employee completes this program, they will move to the highest overscale Sales Service Clerk rate for that year, unless they are currently overscale employees. In that circumstance, said employees will keep the two ($2.00) dollar pay differential outlined above.

Hours allocated to any management trainee will not be considered as available hours in the store. No full-time employee will be reduced to part-time as a result of the presence of a management trainee in a store. The Co-operative agrees to limit the number of Management Trainees to one (1). Management Trainees. The Employer may from time to time employ management trainees temporarily on jobs within the bargaining unit, on the understanding that the object of the attachment is the training of the individual concerned and that the hours of work and pay of any employee are not reduced as a result of the attachment. The length of such attachment shall be limited to three (3) months. Management trainees, while performing work within the bargaining unit, shall be liable to pay the monthly dues for general purposes authorized by the Constitution of the Union but shall not be obligated to join the Union.

Management Trainees. Employees designated as Management Trainees shall not be schedule or called in to work hours out of seniority in the Department except when scheduled for store closing to a maximum of twenty-four (24) hours per week. This weekly maximum will not include hours worked on Sunday or statutory holidays nor weeks in which a member of the management team (defined as Store Manager, First or Second Assistant Store Manager) is absent for all or a portion of the week. The employees regular day off is not considered as an absence.
Management Trainees. The Co-operative may accept a placement of no more than two (2) Management Trainees having and regularly exercising authority to employ or regularly acting on behalf of management in a confidential capacity. These Management Trainees shall be excluded from and out of scope of the Collective Agreement. It is understood that no employee shall lose hours of work because of a placement of these Trainees.
