Maintenance Security Clause Samples

The Maintenance Security clause requires a contractor or service provider to provide a financial guarantee or security to ensure the proper performance of maintenance obligations after project completion. This security may take the form of a bank guarantee, retention of a portion of payment, or a performance bond, and typically remains in place for a specified defects liability or maintenance period. Its core function is to protect the client by ensuring that any defects or issues arising during the maintenance period are promptly addressed, thereby reducing the risk of unfulfilled maintenance responsibilities.
