Ideally eligibility for a six-fifths assignment is limited to permanent unit members with more than one year of teaching experience at the school site. After engaging in a conversation with SDTA to problem solve, if no permanent member is available to satisfy the need, the six-fifths position may be offered to a probationary or temporary unit member, provided the member has at least three (3) years experience teaching in the subject area at the high school level.

Ideally work will take place outside of the recreation season which typically runs from April to October. However, work during the recreation season is often unavoidable and to be expected. During the recreation season, the Contractor will be expected to safely work within heavily utilized areas. All potential bidders are encouraged to visit Lake Shelbyville prior to bidding to discuss the requirements with the Operations Manager and other Corps of Engineers personnel. Failure to inspect the site prior to bidding does not constitute a grounds for withdrawal after the bid opening.
