General Interpretation. In this Agreement:
General Interpretation. The terms of this Agreement have been negotiated by the parties hereto and the language used in this Agreement shall be deemed to be the language chosen by the parties hereto to express their mutual intent. This Agreement shall be construed without regard to any presumption or rule requiring construction against the party causing such instrument or any portion thereof to be drafted, or in favor of the party receiving a particular benefit under this Agreement. No rule of strict construction will be applied against any Person. For all purposes of this Agreement, unless otherwise expressly provided or unless the context otherwise requires:
General Interpretation. (a) The descriptive headings contained in this Agreement are included for convenience of reference only and shall not affect in any way the meaning or interpretation of this Agreement.

References in this Agreement to any statute or statutory instrument or Applicable Regulations include any modification, amendment, extension or re-enactment thereof. A reference in this Agreement to "document" shall be construed to include any electronic document. The masculine includes the feminine and the neuter and the singular includes the plural and vice versa as the context admits or requires. Words and phrases defined in the FCA's Rules have the same meaning in this Agreement unless expressly defined in this Agreement.
General Interpretation. This Agreement shall be interpreted in accordance with the following understandings, namely:
General Interpretation. Each of the provisions of this Agreement shall be subject and subordinate to the obligations of either party under applicable laws or regulations. If any provision shall be prohibited by or deemed invalid under such applicable laws or regulations, such provision shall be ineffective to the extent of such prohibition or invalidity, without invalidating the remainder of such provision or the remaining provisions of this Agreement. If any provision of the Agreement is invalidated, the parties will meet to renegotiate such invalidated provision. For the purposes of the Agreement:

References to “law” include references to any applicable, common or customary law and any treaty, constitution, statute, legislation, decree, rule, regulation, judgement, order, writ, injunction, determination, award or other legislative or administrative measure or judicial or arbitral decision in any jurisdiction which has the force of law or compliance with which is in accordance with the general practice of such jurisdiction and “legal” shall be interpreted accordingly.
