Elderly. One or two person household with a person at least 62 years of age.
Elderly. The ability to maintain core body temperature decreases with age. This is primarily due to circulatory conditions and decreased sweat gland function. The body must be able to activate its natural cooling processes in order to maintain core body temperature.
Elderly. DOGS: Owners of elderly dogs (approaching the end of life) need to know if in the event Owner’s dog passes on while in our care, our policy is to transport Owner’s dog to Owner’s vet (within Santa Xxxxxxx County) where he/she will be held until Owner can be reached by the Vet for further instructions. If Owner’s vet is closed or outside of our transport distance, then we will transport to nearest 24-hour facility. Trip charge will be based on time/distance.
Elderly. In general, elderly patients are more susceptible for the adverse effects of residual NMB and spontaneous recovery of NMB is slower compared to younger patients43-45. A multicentre, phase III study investigated the influence of age on the safety, efficacy and pharmacokinetics of sugammadex reversal of a rocuronium induced NMB and found reversal times to be modestly increased in elderly compared to patients aged < 65 years (mean time 2.9 vs. 2.3 min) 46. Sugammadex was well tolerated, and no cases of recurrence of NMB were described.
Elderly. People 60 years of age and older, including individuals who are healthy and those with disabilities and/or chronic health conditions. Elder Adult at Risk: Any person 60 years of age or older who has experienced, is currently experiencing, or is at risk of experiencing abuse, neglect, self-neglect, or financial exploitation. Enrollment counseling: Providing information to prospective publicly funded long-term care enrollees so they can make an informed decision among the available programs, including choice of managed care organization or IRIS consultant agency. This is also called choice counseling.
Elderly. The elderly are well represented in the population of PD patients and constitute a high proportion of those studied in clinical trials of APO-go®. Their management has not differed from that of younger patients. However, extra caution is recommended during initiation of therapy because of the risk of postural hypotension. Contraindications In patients with respiratory depression, dementia, psychotic diseases or hepatic insufficiency; avoid if 'on' response to levodopa which is marred by severe dyskinesia or dystonia. Side Effects Respiratory depression, dementia, psychotic diseases or hepatic insufficiency; 'on' response to levodopa which is marred by severe dyskinesia or dystonia Drug Interactions Patients selected for treatment with apomorphine HCl are almost certain to be taking concomitant medications for their Xxxxxxxxx'x disease. In the initial stages of apomorphine HCl therapy, the patient should be monitored for unusual side-effects or signs of potentiation of effect. Neuroleptic medicinal products may have an antagonistic effect if used with apomorphine. There is a potential interaction between clozapine and apomorphine; however clozapine may also be used to reduce the symptoms of neuropsychiatric complications. If neuroleptic medicinal products have to be used in patients with Xxxxxxxxx'x disease treated by dopamine agonists, a gradual reduction in apomorphine dose may be considered when administration is by minipump and/or syringe-driver (symptoms suggestive of neuroleptic malignant syndrome have been reported rarely with abrupt withdrawal of dopaminergic therapy). The possible effects of apomorphine on the plasma concentrations of other medicinal products have not been studied. Therefore caution is advised when combining apomorphine with other medicinal products, especially those with a narrow therapeutic range. Antihypertensive and Cardiac Active Medicinal Products Even when co-administered with domperidone, apomorphine may potentiate the antihypertensive effects of these medicinal products. It is recommended to avoid the administration of apomorphine with other drugs known to prolong the QT interval.
