COLLEGE INCENTIVE PAY. The CITY shall pay for advanced educational incentive to all employees who have completed two (2) years of service with the Omaha Police Department. The CITY shall pay the employee in equal increments, coinciding with the pay periods as follows:
a) Each employee who has obtained a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university shall receive one and one half percent (1.5%) of the top Police Officer’s base: $27.80 per pay period for 2001 ($722.74) $28.92 per pay period for 2002 ($751.87) $30.14 per pay period for 2003 ($783.74)
b) Each employee who has obtained a Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university shall receive one and seventy-five one hundredths percent (1.75%) of the top Police Officer’s base pay: $32.43 per pay period for 2001 ($843.20) $33.74 per pay period for 2002 ($877.18) $35.17 per pay period for 2003 ($914.37)
SECTION 1 December 24, 2000, all employees covered by this Agreement shall receive a (3.08%) base pay increase. COLLEGE INCENTIVE PAY. (a) Command Officers who possess the below listed college degrees in Criminal Justice or Police Administration shall be eligible to receive the College Incentive Pay as stated below: Associate's Degree $250.00 per year Bachelor's Degree 400.00 per year Master’s Degree 550.00 per year This pay shall be computed and paid on the first pay in the month of June each year.
(b) The Employer will reimburse out of pocket tuition cost only for college accredited courses to a maximum of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per Employee per fiscal year capped at a total of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00) for the Bargaining Unit per fiscal year. This college reimbursement shall be paid for grade C or above only. Request for college reimbursement shall be made within twenty-one (21) calendar days of completion of the course. The date of submission for the reimbursement shall be used in determining eligibility for payment. Request for college reimbursement shall be for courses in Criminal Justice or related fields only.
COLLEGE INCENTIVE PAY. Section 1 In addition to the annual base pay of each Firefighter, Lieutenant or Assistant Chief who holds a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college, or a degree in Fire Technology from the State of Connecticut, to include business and management classes and courses, with prior approval of the Town, the Town will pay the annual sum of five hundred dollars ($500) per year. For each employee who has satisfactorily completed thirty (30) course credits from an accredited college, the Town will pay one hundred dollars ($100) per year in addition to their annual base salary; for each employee who has satisfactorily completed sixty (60) course credits from an accredited college, the Town will pay two hundred dollars ($200) per year in addition to their annual base salary; for each employee who has satisfactorily completed ninety (90) course credits from an accredited college, the Town will pay three hundred dollars ($300) per year in addition to their annual base salary. These amounts of college incentive shall not be used in the computation of any holiday or overtime pay or effect the daily or hourly rate of any such employee and shall not be used in any manner in the computations of pensions or other fringe benefits. Probationary fire fighters shall not be entitled to the aforesaid incentive pay during their first six (6) months of employment. The Town shall pay one-half (1/2) of each employee’s college incentive pay to them on the first pay day of December and the remaining half (1/2) of such pay on the last pay day in June.
Section 2 All employees receiving college incentive pay as set forth in Section 1 of this Article, prior to the execution of this Agreement, shall continue to receive such college incentive pay. Effective July 1, 2003, each Firefighter, Lieutenant or Assistant Chief who holds a Degree in Fire Science from an accredited college shall receive, in addition to their annual base pay, the sum of seven hundred dollars ($700) per year. Effective July 1, 2004, this sum shall be nine hundred dollars ($900) per year. Effective July 1, 2005 and thereafter, this sum shall be one thousand dollars ($1,000) per year. COLLEGE INCENTIVE PAY. A. Any officer who attends school shall be reimbursed for the cost of tuition, academic fees laboratory fees, and required textbooks for all undergraduate courses successfully completed which are relevant to the field of law enforcement or in the pursuit of a formal police science program leading to an undergraduate degree.
B. Any officer wishing to attend school in a subsequent fiscal/calendar year must present to the Chief of Police and the Business Administrator by January 1 of the year in which course work is contemplated a written Notice of Intent to Attend School, together with an estimate of the cost of tuition, fees and textbooks before reimbursement for completed coursework can be guaranteed.
C. All other sources of tuition assistance funding (Veterans’, Federal and State) should be exhausted prior to application to the Employer for reimbursement.
D. A copy of the paid tuition and fee bill shall be submitted to the Business Administrator for reimbursement, together with a transcript showing satisfactory completion of the course undertaken; e.g. “C” or better in an A-F scale, “pass” in a pass/fail course, or “2" or better in a 4-1 scale, 4 being the highest grade.
COLLEGE INCENTIVE PAY. Employees hired before January 9, 2017 and who have successfully completed sixty (60) credits but less than one hundred twenty (120) credits from colleges or universities accredited by the following Regional Associations: Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools; New England Association of Schools and Colleges; North Central Association of Colleges and Schools; Northwest Association of Colleges and Schools; Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; and Western Association of Schools and Colleges, shall receive two and one-half percent (2.5%) of the base rate of their salary range on a continuing basis. Employees who have successfully completed at least one hundred twenty (120) credits from colleges or universities, accredited by the above-referenced Regional Agencies, shall receive five percent (5%) of the base rate of their salary range on a continuing basis. Employees who successfully complete sufficient credits to qualify for the college incentive pay shall submit official transcripts to the Office of the Fire Chief, and the college incentive pay shall be effective the pay period immediately following the submission and approval of such transcripts. For purposes of this Section, “successfully complete” means that an employee has received a passing grade for any credits taken. Employees hired on or after January 9, 2017, including class currently in the exam process, shall not be entitled to any college incentive pay.
COLLEGE INCENTIVE PAY. A. In addition to the salary noted in Schedule A college incentive pay will be paid at the rate of Twenty ($20.00) Dollars per course credit. Payment is conditioned upon the following:
1. Courses must lead to an Associate or Baccalaureate Degree in Police Science and the Employee must be "matriculated".
2. Courses must have been satisfactorily completed at a recognized institute of higher learning and must have been earned while an Employee of the City of ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.
3. Additional remuneration under this Article shall not exceed Three Hundred Thirty ($330.00) Dollars in any given calendar year, nor exceed a total of Thirteen Hundred Twenty ($1,320.00) Dollars.
4. Payment on a pro-rated basis will be included in the Employee's first regular pay day in September of each year retroactive to the completion of such credit hours provided there has been presented to the City Manager on or before July 15th of each year, a proper certification from
5. Courses must be taken during the Employee's off-duty hours.
6. Paragraphs 1, 2 and 5 shall not apply to those Employees enrolled and/or receiving reimbursement at the time of the signing of this Agreement.
7. If "special courses"are desired to be taken by an Employee, the Employee may request from the City special permission to take the course during on-duty hours, depending upon the needs of the Department and the availability of the course.
COLLEGE INCENTIVE PAY. College incentive pay shall be paid to firefighters in accordance with the following schedules: 0-29 credits no incentive pay; 30-59 credits- $200 annually; 60-89 credits- - $400 annually; 90 or more credits- $600 annually; Bachelor's Degree or higher- $800 annually. The maximum annual college incentive pay amount, regardless of the number or type of degrees, is $800. An official transcript from an accredited institution must be presented to Administrative Services for college incentive pay to be received. All employees who successfully complete approved courses in a recognized institution of higher learning in a program leading to a degree in Police Science/Criminal Justice shall receive the sum of twenty ($20.00) dollars per credit hour upon completion of such credit hours.
B. The maximum payable under this article shall be limited to one hundred twenty (120) credits.
C. Such compensation shall be payable, subject to presentation to the Police Chairman of evidence of successful completion of the course, with a C average.
D. All employees who have successfully completed college from an accredited institution of higher learning obtaining a Associates Degree shall have a sum of $250.00 added to their base salary.
E. All employees who have successfully completed college from an accredited institution of higher learning obtaining a bachelors Degree shall have a sum of $500.00 added to their base salary.
F. All employees who have successfully completed college from an accredited institution of higher learning obtaining a Masters Degree shall have a sum of $750.00 added to their base salary.
