Acting Administrator. E.21.1 a. Absences of Administrative Officers for more than seven consecutive days, except for an extension for up to five days pursuant to Article E.20.4 (Teacher- in-Charge), shall be filled by an acting appointment to the vacant position.
Acting Administrator. Where a principal or vice-principal is absent in excess of twenty (20) consecutive school days but less than a school year, the Board may assign to a teacher the duties of an acting administrator.
Acting Administrator a) The Board may assign to a teacher the duties of an administrator (Principal) for a temporary period of time not to exceed ten (10) teaching months. b) No teacher shall be assigned without his/her consent. c) Acceptance by the teacher of such duties on a temporary basis shall not interrupt the teacher’s accumulation of seniority rights or credit for experience under the provision of this agreement or his/her membership on the local Unit of the OECTA. d) All provisions of this collective agreement shall apply to the teacher during the term of assignment. e) The assigned teacher shall not perform the evaluation of teachers under his/her supervision during the temporary assignment. f) The assigned teacher shall be paid 95% of a Principal’s salary, pro-rated should the term of responsibility be for less than a full school year. g) The assigned teacher shall be replaced by an occasional teacher for the duration of the assignment.
Acting Administrator. (a) An Acting Administrator is a teacher assigned to replace a Principal and/or Vice-Principal who is temporarily absent for a period not to exceed six (6) months of a school year in which the assignment was made. Any extension of this period shall only be with the approval of the Association. (b) A teacher assigned to the position of Acting Administrator will not forfeit any rights under the provisions of this Collective Agreement during said assignment. (c) No teacher shall be assigned to the position of Acting Administrator without his/her consent. (d) Any teacher assigned to the position of Acting Administrator shall not take part in the Teacher Performance Appraisal Process of another member of this bargaining unit. (e) When the Board assigns a teacher to the position of Acting Administrator, the position that the teacher held shall be filled by an Occasional Teacher from the Occasional Teacher List. (f) The assigned teacher shall be paid at the base salary level of the applicable Acting Administrator position during the term of the assignment. (g) At the conclusion of an Acting Administrator assignment, the assigned teacher will return to the position that he/she occupied prior to the assignment to the position of Acting Administrator, subject to the provisions of this Collective Agreement.
Acting Administrator. 21.01 a) The Board may assign to a Teacher the position of Acting Administrator (Principal / Vice-Principal) for a temporary period of time not to exceed the balance of the school year.
Acting Administrator i) The Board may assign to a qualified teacher the duties of an administrator (Principal/Vice-Principal) for a temporary period of time not to exceed forty (40) consecutive school days. However, in the case of a pregnancy/parental leave or a Board approved leave of absence including a long term medical leave this period can be for the balance of the school year in which the assignment is made. ii) Any extension of this period shall be by mutual consent of the Board and OECTA. iii) No teacher shall be assigned without his/her consent. iv) Acceptance by the teacher of such duties on a temporary basis shall not interrupt the teacher's accumulation of seniority rights or credit for experience under the provisions of this agreement or his/her membership in the Union. v) All provisions of the collective agreement shall apply to the teacher during the term of the assignment. vi) The assigned teacher shall not perform the evaluation of teachers. vii) An assigned teacher shall be replaced by an occasional teacher for the duration of the assignment. viii) The Acting Administrator shall be compensated at the daily rate applicable for the position.
Acting Administrator. The acting administrator shall be compensated at the rate of pay of the administrator being replaced.
Acting Administrator. 13.01.01 The Board may assign a Teacher, with the Teacher’s consent, to the position of Acting Administrator (Vice Principal) for a temporary period of time not to exceed ninety (90) consecutive school days, only when an existing Principal or Vice Principal is absent. 13.01.02 Any extension of this period shall only be with the approval of the OECTA St. Clair Secondary Executive. 13.01.03 The Acting Administrator shall be paid a salary equivalent to the salary of the administrator being replaced. 13.01.04 Acceptance by the Teacher of such temporary position shall not interrupt the accumulation of seniority or experience under the provisions of this collective agreement. 13.01.05 All other provisions of this collective agreement shall apply to the Teacher during such period of temporary assignment. 13.01.06 The Acting Administrator shall perform all of the duties normally associated with the position except that he/she shall not participate in the evaluation of any other Teacher. 13.01.07 When a Teacher assumes the position of Acting Administrator, the Board shall ensure that no Classroom Teacher’s workload is increased as a result of the Teacher assuming that position. 13.01.08 The Board, subject to surplus and redundancy clauses, agrees to replace any Teacher who accepts an Acting Administrator position as described in this article with an Occasional Teacher.
Acting Administrator. The District shall make every attempt to secure a substitute administrator, but if no substitute can be secured a teacher will be appointed by the District to act as Administrator in the absence of both building administrators, and will be paid at the rate of $150 per day prorated to the length of time said teacher is actually performing administrative duties.
Acting Administrator. 31.01 The parties agree that a teacher may be appointed to the position of Acting Vice-Principal for a period not to exceed one (1) school year. For the purpose of determining seniority, service in an acting position shall be considered as continuous service within the Bargaining Unit. 31.02 Should a teacher be appointed temporarily as an Acting Vice Principal, they shall not evaluate another member of the elementary bargaining unit. 31.03 The Unit shall be informed of all appointments under this Article.
