Open Source definition

Open Source software used herein shall mean software that is available without charge for use, modifica- tions and distribution and is often licensed under terms that require the user to make the user’s modifications to the Open Source software or any software that the user ‘combines’ with the Open Source software freely available in source code; or c) violate the respective Open Source licenses and related terms and conditions.
Open Source means any Software or other Intellectual Property that is distributed under an open source license such as (by way of example only) the GNU General Public License, GNU Lesser General Public License, Apache License, Mozilla Public License, BSD License, MIT License, Common Public License, any derivative of any of the foregoing licenses, or any other license approved as an open source license by the Open Source Initiative.
Open Source means computer software, computer program, and any other material that is published for use, with rights to access and modify, by any person for free, under a generally recognised open source licence;

  • In addition to the terns of this Agreement, Third Party Open Source is subject to the relevant third-party license, including the relevant proprietary notices, disclaimers, requirements and/or extended rights which are relevant to the Third Party Open Source.

More Definitions of Open Source

Open Source means any software that requires as a condition of its use, the modification and/or distribution of such software or other software incorporated into, derived from or distributed with such software be: (i) disclosed or distributed in source code form; (ii) licensed for the purpose of making derivative works; or (ii) redistributable at no charge.
Open Source means with respect to Software and any licenses of same, that Software provided under a license which permits the user to run, copy, distribute, study, change, modify and/or improve the Software but which prohibits the user from: (a) withholding improvements and/or modifications made by the user to the source code when and/if user thereafter distributes the Software; and/or (b) adding restrictions on use when redistributing or transferring the Software to third parties. For purposes of this Contract, “Open Source” Software shall also include “Free Software” as defined by the Free Software Foundation Inc. By way of example and not limitation, “Open Source” licenses shall include such licenses as the GNU General Public License, the Mozilla Public License 1.1, Apache Software License Version 2.0, the Academic Free License 2.0, and Open Software License 2.0.
Open Source means any software having license terms that require, as a condition of use, modification, or distribution of the software that such software or other software combined or distributed with such software be (i) disclosed or distributed in source code form, (ii) licensed for the purpose of making derivative works, or (iii) redistributable at no charge.

Open Source means various open source software components licensed under the terms of applicable open source license agreements included in the materials relating to such software. Open Source Software is composed of individual software components, each of which has its own copyright and its own applicable license conditions.
