Maternity or Paternity Leave definition

Maternity or Paternity Leave means a person’s absence from work for all Affiliated Employers: (a) by reason of the pregnancy of such person; (b) by reason of the birth of a child of such person; (c) by reason of the placement of a child with the person in connection with the adoption of such child by such person; or (d) for purposes of caring for a child of such person immediately following the birth of the child or the placement of the child with such person.
Maternity or Paternity Leave means any period during which an Employee is absent from work as an employee of an Affiliate (i) because of the pregnancy of such Employee; (ii) because of the birth of a child of such Employee; (iii) because of the placement of a child with such Employee in connection with the adoption of such child by such Employee; or (iv) for purposes of such Employee caring for a child immediately after the birth or placement of such child.

Examples of Maternity or Paternity Leave in a sentence

  • The Trust is able to support scholars who wish to undertake a period of Maternity or Paternity Leave during the tenure of their award; for more information, please see Section 4 of our guidelines.

  • Hours of Service credited shall be applied only to the Plan Year in which the Maternity or Paternity Leave begins unless such Hours of Service are not required to prevent the Employee from incurring a Break in Service, in which event such Hours of Service shall be credited to the Employee in the immediately following year.

  • Maternity or Paternity Leave, applied for but not commenced, will be cancelled when the pregnancy of an employee terminates other than by the birth of a living child.

  • A Participant shall be deemed to be on Maternity or Paternity Leave if the Participant is absent from work by reason of the pregnancy of the Participant, by reason of the birth of a child of the Participant, by reason of the placement of a child with the Participant in connection with the adoption of the child by such Participant, or for the purpose of caring for such child during the period immediately following such birth or placement.

More Definitions of Maternity or Paternity Leave

Maternity or Paternity Leave means an absence from work (i) by reason of pregnancy of the individual; (ii) by reason of a birth of a child of the individual; (iii) by reason of the placement of a child with the individual in connection with the adoption of such child by such individual; or (iv) for purposes of caring for such child for a period beginning immediately following such birth or placement. The Participant shall give the Plan Administrator such timely information as the Plan Administrator may reasonably require to establish that the absence from work is for one of the foregoing reasons and to establish the number of days for which there was such an absence.
Maternity or Paternity Leave means absence due to:
Maternity or Paternity Leave means any period of absence by reason of the pregnancy of the Participant, the birth of a child of the Participant, the placement of a child with the Participant in connection with the adoption of such child by the Participant, or the caring for such child for a period beginning immediately following such birth or placement; provided, however, that the Participant shall have complied with the Company's request to furnish the Plan Administrator such timely information as may be reasonably required to establish that the absence is for such reason and the number of days for which there was such an absence.
Maternity or Paternity Leave means an Employee’s absence from work because of (a) the Employee’s pregnancy; (b) the birth of the Employee’s child; (c) the placement of a child with the Employee in connection with the adoption of such child by the Employee; or (d) the need to care for such child for a period beginning immediately following the child’s birth or placement as set forth above.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, a period of absence from employment shall not be regarded as a Maternity or Paternity Leave if the Participant shall fail to comply with a request by the Company to furnish the Plan Administrator such timely information as may be reasonably required to establish that the absence from employment was for a reason set forth above and the number of days for which there was such an absence.
