Absent from Work. A Nurse to be displaced who is absent from work due to a leave of absence for any reason shall be advised of displacement in writing. The displaced Nurse shall be required to indicate his or her intent to return to work and shall normally be required to exercise displacement rights in accordance with the displacement procedure. However, the displaced Nurse will not be required to return to work prior to the expiry of her or his leave of absence.

Absent from Work. An employee is expected not to be absent from work for any reason other than personal illness without making prior arrangements with the employee’s Supervisor. Unless such prior arrangements are made, an employee who, for any reason, fails to report for work must make a sincere effort to immediately notify the Supervisor of the reason for being absent. If the absence is to continue beyond the first day, the employee must notify the Supervisor on a daily basis unless otherwise arranged with the Supervisor. In proper cases, exceptions will be made. An employee shall lose status as an employee and seniority if absent from work, including the failure to return to work at the expiration of a leave of absence, vacation or disciplinary layoff, for two (2) consecutive working days without notifying the Employer, except when the failure to notify and work is due to circumstances beyond the control of the employee.
Absent from Work. If a seniority employee with less than six months' seniority is absent for three (3) working days without properly notifying the Company and giving a satisfactory reason for his or her absence, unless it is not possible for the employee to do so.
Absent from Work. Employees, if absent, shall call in daily, or shall report the length of time that they expect to be absent from work. If absent for more than three (3) days, the employee shall report his availability for work at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the time that he expects to report for work, or prior to the time the Employer makes up his schedule for the next week.
Absent from Work. (A) In case an employee is unavoidably kept from work he will not be discriminated against. An employee detained from work on account of sickness or for any other good cause, shall notify the proper authority as soon as possible.

  • ABSENCE FROM WORK Subject to the trust deed to the fund of which an employee is a member, the following provisions will apply.

  • Completion of Concrete Pours and Emergency Work 24.14.1 Except as provided in this sub-clause an employee shall not work or be required to work in the rain.

  • Recall from Layoff Full-time and regular part-time nurses shall be recalled in the order of seniority unless otherwise agreed between the Hospital and the local Union, subject to the following provisions, provided that a nurse recalled is qualified to perform the available work:

  • Continuous, Intermittent, and Reduced Work Schedule Leave All leave granted under this Article shall normally be for a continuous period of time for each incident. An employee shall be permitted to take intermittent leave or work on a reduced schedule to take care of a family member with a serious health condition or for his/her own serious health condition when it is medically necessary. Management may require the employee to transfer temporarily to an available alternative position with equivalent compensation for which the employee is qualified that accommodates recurring periods of leave better than the employee’s regular position. Employees who elect a part-time schedule shall receive prorated compensated time off benefits in accordance with Section 4.110 of the Los Angeles Administrative Code during the duration of their part-time schedule. In accordance with the California Family Rights Act (CFRA), leave for the birth, adoption or xxxxxx care placement of a child of an employee (“bonding” leave) does not have to be taken in one continuous period of time. Under CFRA, the basic minimum duration of bonding leave is two weeks, and on any two occasions an employee is entitled to such bonding leave for a time period of not less than one day but less than two weeks’ duration. Any other form of intermittent leave, or work on a reduced schedule, for the purpose of bonding leave shall only be permitted at the discretion of Management. Bonding leave must be concluded within one year of the birth or placement of the child.
