Tours of Duty. A. The parties to this agreement recognize that for employees engaged in law enforcement activities, and their required support personnel (normally those employees working under the jurisdiction of a Border Patrol Sector), the employer shall establish, maintain, and change those shifts, tours of duty and hours of work to best promote the efficient and effective accomplishment of the mission and operations of the Agency.
Tours of Duty. Tour of duty is defined as the days within an administrative workweek, published in advance, during which the employee is required to perform service.

Tours of Duty. The Chief of Police shall establish the tours of duty for all personnel and shall fix the hours of each tour. Provided, however, this provision shall not apply during emergencies or where operating needs dictate otherwise, or abridge the authority of the Chief of Police to assign personnel in an emergency situation or where operating needs require. A determination as to the existence of an emergency or operational needs shall not be subject to grievance or arbitration. The tours of duty shall be set forth and available for bidding to all Supervisors on a four-month interval effective July 1, 2023. When a tour of duty becomes permanently vacant by reason of promotion, retirement, resignation or death, that vacant tour shall be made available for selection by all full time Supervisors.
Tours of Duty a. The tour of duty and daily hours of work for ART aircrew members engaged in long distance flights is governed by the proposed take off time as stated in the mission operations directive (commonly referred to as FRAG). Duty time normally begins at reporting time for pre- departure duties and ends at completion of postflight duties. Duty hours on AFRES Form 4 will be logged in local time of the first departure location.
