Maltreatment definition

Maltreatment means the neglect, abuse, or financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult.
Maltreatment means abuse as defined in subdivision 2, neglect as defined in subdivision 17, or financial exploitation as defined in subdivision 9.
Maltreatment means abuse, neglect, exploitation, or abandonment of a child.

Examples of Maltreatment in a sentence

  • It is grounds for termination of contract of employment if an employee fails a criminal background check or receives a true report on the Child Maltreatment Central Registry check.

  • Sexual Maltreatment also includes sexual harassment and stalking, cyber harassment, and cyber stalking of a sexual nature.

  • The written request should include any documentation, such as police reports, or other materials that are related to the event giving rise to the failed background check or true result on the Child Maltreatment Registry as well as information supporting your request for the waiver.

  • An employee who receives notification of a failure to pass a criminal background check or a true result on the Child Maltreatment Central Registry check shall have thirty (30) days following the notification to submit to the superintendent, or designee, a written request for a hearing before the Board to request a waiver.

  • Compliance with this reporting requirement does not satisfy any other legally mandated reporting of abuse, such as notifying the law enforcement officials or notifying the NYS Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment.
