Extended Medical Leave definition

Extended Medical Leave. Should the Minister’s illness, injury, or disabling condition continue after all accrued sick and vacation leave has been exhausted, the congregation shall place the Minister on “Extended Medical Leave.” Extended Medical Leave shall not extend beyond the earlier of either the commencement of long-term disability benefits or 90 days following the exhaustion of all sick and vacation leave. Vacation leave does not accrue during this period. During Extended Medical Leave, the congregation shall continue to pay all employee insurance premiums (health, dental, life, retirement, and long term disability) as otherwise provided by this Agreement, and 100% of the Minister’s salary and housing allowance.

Examples of Extended Medical Leave in a sentence

  • Extended Medical Leave of Absence with Pay, the University will require a Certification of Health Care Provider form from the Faculty Member’s or Immediate Family Member’s medical provider, citing the effective date of the Leave and the final date of medical certification.

  • Normally, the decision about whether a Faculty Member should take or continue using sick leave or Extended Medical Leave or return to active faculty status will be made by the Faculty Member following consultation with his or her medical provider.

  • Should the Minister suffer an illness, injury, or disabling condition that continues after all accrued sick, vacation, and study leave has been exhausted, the Congregation will place the Minister on “Extended Medical Leave.” Extended Medical Leave will not extend beyond the earlier of the commencement of long-term disability benefit or 90 days following the exhaustion of all sick, vacation, and study leave.

  • In the event that the Minister is found eligible for long-term disability benefits and/or is absent from work or physically unable to perform duties at the conclusion of the Extended Medical Leave outlined in Section 4.7, the Congregation has the right to terminate the Minister’s employment upon written notice to the Minister.

  • Any absence (i.e., FML, Extended Medical Leave, Injury Leave, Military Leave) in excess of thirty (30) calendar days shall toll the above retention periods for the duration of the absence and extend the force and effect period for the applicable disciplinary action.

  • If additional leave is necessary, the employee’s physician shall submit the District’s Extended Medical Leave Form verifying that the employee is unable to return to work and additional leave, paid or unpaid, shall be granted accordingly.

Related to Extended Medical Leave

  • Medical leave means leave of up to a total of 12 workweeks in a 12-month period because of an employee’s own serious health condition that makes the employee unable to work at all or unable to perform any one or more of the essential functions of the position of that employee. The term “essential functions” is defined in Government Code section 12926. “Medical leave” does not include leave taken for an employee’s pregnancy disability, as defined in (n) below, except as specified below in section 11093(c)(1).

  • Family and Medical Leave means a leave of absence for the birth, adoption or foster care of a child, or for the care of your child, spouse or parent or for your own serious health condition as those terms are defined by the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA) and any amendments, or by applicable state law.

  • Housing Act means the United States Housing Act of 1937, as amended, or its successor.

  • Military caregiver leave means leave taken to care for a covered servicemember with a serious injury or illness.

  • FMLA Leave means a leave of absence, which the Company is required to extend to an Employee under the provisions of the FMLA.

  • Annual leave and Clause 6.3 “Personal (Sick) Leave” of this Agreement.

  • Fair Housing Act means the Fair Housing Act, as amended.

  • Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) means section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 as amended by the ADA Amendments Act of 2008.

  • Parental leave means leave to bond and to care for a newborn child after birth or to bond and care for a child after placement for adoption or xxxxxx care, for a period of up to sixteen (16) weeks after the birth or placement.

  • Personal Leave means leave provided for:

  • FMLA means the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, as amended.

  • Pregnancy Leave means leave taken for purposes related to giving birth and/or recovering therefrom.

  • maternity leave means a period during which a woman is absent from work because she is pregnant or has given birth to a child, and at the end of which she has a right to return to work either under the terms of her contract of employment or under Part 8 of the Employment Rights Act 1996;

  • Students with disabilities means students who have individualized education programs regardless of the disability.

  • Employment Practices means any wrongful or unfair dismissal, denial of natural justice, defamation, misleading representation or advertising, unfair contracts, harassment or discrimination (sexual or otherwise) in respect of employment by the Insured.

  • Employment Practices Wrongful Act means any actual or alleged:

  • Health care worker means a person other than a health care professional who provides medical, dental, or other health-related care or treatment under the direction of a health care professional with the authority to direct that individual's activities, including medical technicians, medical assistants, dental assistants, orderlies, aides, and individuals acting in similar capacities.

  • Occupational Safety and Health Law means any Legal Requirement designed to provide safe and healthful working conditions and to reduce occupational safety and health hazards, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and any program, whether governmental or private (such as those promulgated or sponsored by industry associations and insurance companies), designed to provide safe and healthful working conditions.

  • Equal Credit Opportunity Act means the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, as amended.

  • MFN Protection has the meaning set forth in Section 2.14(e)(iii).

  • paternity leave means a period of absence from work on leave by virtue of section 80A or 80B of the Employment Rights Act 1996;
