Common use of Inclement Weather Clause in Contracts

Inclement Weather. 3.1 Inclement Weather will mean the existence of continuous rain or abnormal climatic conditions (whether they be those of hail, snow, cold, high wind, severe dust, extreme high temperature or rain affected work site) by virtue of which it is either unsafe and/or unreasonable for employees to continue working when exposed to this weather. It is agreed that in the event of wet weather consultation will be held between the parties concerned with a view to reaching agreement. On reaching agreement, steps will be taken in regard to the continuance or discontinuance of work. In all cases, consideration will be given to ensuring that a safe workplace is provided and safe systems of work are employed.
