Employee on Leave. Employees on unpaid leave of absence from the District service may elect to continue any or all District insurance/benefit plans at their own cost and by payment to the District in advance of any monthly premiums due. Bargaining unit members who work a complete school year shall have insurance benefits under the District's fringe benefit program effective through the last day of September of the succeeding school year. Bargaining unit members who are employed subsequent to the first day of the school year shall have insurance benefits commence on the first day of the month following date of employment.

Employee on Leave. An employee that has approved leave will not be placed on the on­call schedule during the employee’s scheduled vacation. However, employees may at their request be placed on­call during vacation leave and if needed will report for work. Any employee that submits a vacation request after the on­call schedule has been posted must find a replacement to cover his on­call responsibilities; otherwise, the employee’s vacation request will be denied by the Employer. Any employee that accepts the on­call of another employee is responsible to work on­call or find a replacement to cover the on­call. However, if the unpaid leave is for personal illness, the Employer shall remove him/her from all health benefits on the first day of the month, which follows the sixty (60) days of absence. After ten years of service, the sixty (60) days will become ninety (90) days. After the above has been completed an employee who is on leave may continue to be covered by the Employer’s selected health plan for up to one (1) year by paying the monthly premium to the Employer.   • Benefits While on Leave An employee will continue to receive her/his salary and benefits while on paid leave under this Article. An employee on unpaid leave may arrange to pay the costs required to maintain benefit coverage in accordance with the local provisions of the collective agreement.

  • Employees on Leave Unit members who are granted Sick Leave Bank Days shall be considered to be in regular paid status during such leave.

  • Maternity Disability Leave 14.1.13.1 This leave commences with the onset of disablement due to pregnancy. The employee may claim sick leave pay and/or extended disability pay for no more than that limited period of time when the employee’s physician certified in writing on the form provided by the District that she was actually physically disabled from performing her duties because of pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth, or recovery there from.

  • Disability Leave a. An employee who has suffered possible injury in the performance of assigned duties shall immediately undergo such medical examination as the appointing authority deems necessary. He/she shall not be considered absent from duty during the time required for such examination.

  • Employee Organization Leave Notification of a unit member's intent to take Employee Organization Leave shall be submitted to the Vice Chancellor of Human Resources no later than thirty (30) days prior to the starting date of the leave. In addition to the leave benefits granted to representatives of employee organizations by law, unit members on employee organization leave shall not accrue vacation credit, nor submit time reports for vacation leaves. Sick leave shall continue to accrue and sick leave time reporting shall be processed through the Vice Chancellor of Human Resources. AFT shall notify the District no less than sixty days (60) prior to the return to service of a unit member on Employee Organization Leave.

  • Union Leave of Absence An employee on an unpaid Union leave of absence shall have her wages, benefits and seniority continued by the Employer, and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the costs of such wages and benefits. Employees requesting leave under this article will provide the Employer with as much advance notice as possible of the dates of the leave. Where there are less than fifteen (15) regular employees at a workstation at the time the leave request is submitted, and subject to operational requirements, unpaid Union leave of absence will be granted to one employee for the purpose of conducting Union business. This would be an additional person on Union leave at worksites where the position of the Union President or Council member has been backfilled for the duration of their term of office. A leave of absence without pay shall be granted to an employee who is a member of the Union and who is:

  • Vacation Leave on Retirement ‌ An employee scheduled to retire and to receive pension benefits under the Public Service Pension Plan Rules or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted full vacation entitlement for the final calendar year of service.

  • Disability Leave with Pay (A) An employee who sustains a job-related disability and is eligible for disability leave with pay under the provisions of Rule 60L-34, Florida Administrative Code, shall be carried in full-pay status for up to 40 work hours immediately following the onset of the injury without being required to use accrued leave.

  • Rights While on Leave A bargaining unit member approved for a professional conference shall receive full salary while in attendance at said conference. In addition, an estimate of cost of reimbursement will be submitted with the request.
