Employee Level. 5 An employee at this level performs work above the skills of an employee at Level 4 to the level of his/her competence, skill and training. An employee at this level may have completed a trade certificate, AQF Certificate Level III or equivalent training qualification. An employee at this Level will be capable of: • understanding the enterprise’s production process & products & administrative & organisational procedures as they relate to the work area; • providing informal on-the-job training to the level of their training and skill; • identifying quality variations of products and/or materials in the production process for conformity with established production standards; making adjustments to maintain quality standards; • having a working knowledge of the routine and preventative maintenance procedures; • solving straight forward problems based on set procedures or factual information; • operating a computer-controlled system as an integral aspect of work to their level of training and accredited skill; • working under minimal supervision; • exercising discretion. Work is guided by general work processes and procedures; • being responsible for the work of others under their supervision; • being a member of and understanding operating guidelines of a work group/team; • working to written instructions and working to and issuing of verbal instructions; • understanding, and applying occupational health and safety and safe working practices and environmental protection in their own work area. Indicative tasks at this level may include • setting, adjusting and operating a range of equipment in one of either pre-press, press or post-press areas; • having a sound knowledge of the employer’s operations as they relate to the production process; • understanding and applying computer techniques as they relate to production process operations; • making adjustments to maintain quality standards; • forwarding plans material and equipment for next job; • undertaking maintenance to the level of their training and accredited skill including lubrication, elementary diagnosis of faults, routine adjustments and reporting on worn or damaged parts; • high level stores and inventory responsibility beyond the requirements of an employee at level 4; • formatting complex documents including technical data, technical language, tables, graphics, design variable type face, produce documents requiring specific form or to comply with regulations or standards; • undertaking basic art a...

Employee Level. 3 – a person who has had at least two (2) years experience in the cropping, farming and vegetable industries and who is capable of performing efficiently without supervision any of the tasks reasonably required of him/her including driving, maintaining and operating farm vehicles and machinery; animal husbandry; stock handling; pasture management; irrigation work and use of chemicals. This level may include leading hand and managers who have duties involved in the day-to-day running of the enterprise and may include supervising employees as required.

Employees can give guidance and assistance to employees at a lower level regarding the employer’s systems and procedures. Employees require a lesser degree of supervision than level 1 employees and have authority to make limited decisions within defined parameters. Indicative duties, in addition to level 1 duties, include: food and beverage service, retail sales, operation of point of sale systems, basic food preparation, driving motor vehicles including parking, servicing accommodation areas, assisting in the cellar or bottleshop and general clerical duties including operating a switchboard, computerised cashiering, typing and data entry. Job titles associated with this level may include: Front-door Host, Bar Attendant, Waiter/Waitress, Security Officer, Cellar/Bottleshop Assistant, Cook (unqualified), Yardsperson, Receptionist, Marketing/Sales Assistant and Administration Assistant.
Employee Level. 3 Employees at this level have significant prior experience or formal training and can demonstrate skills to undertake duties to the employer’s standards. Employees can supervise and train staff at this level and lower levels and can work unsupervised with some decision making responsibility. Indicative duties, in addition to level 2 duties, include: operation of gaming devices such as PubTab, PubKeno, or Gaming machines, unsupervised cellar or bottleshop duties such as the operation of a forklift and supervision of other employees and clerical duties including general secretarial functions and assisting in preparation of payroll. Job titles associated with this level may include: Bar Supervisor, Senior Bar Attendant, TAB/Gaming Machine Attendant, DJ, Senior Security Officer, Cellar/Bottleshop Attendant, Secretary, Financial Assistant and Assistant Payroll Officer.
