Credit for Teaching Experience. Effective July 1, 2019, all newly hired eligible employees shall receive up to twenty (20) years’ experience credit for all previous teaching experience in the State of Florida or other teaching experience in a school district accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. No credit in excess of that authorized by the salary schedule shall be given, although no such credit previously granted by the District will be retracted. Verification of previous employment must be received by the Division of Human Resources not later than four (4) months from the beginning date of employment in any school year to be effective during that school year. Individuals employed within the last four (4) months of the school year must furnish verification prior to the issuance of their last check. All final checks will reflect only verified experience. Verified remunerated teaching experience under contract, or its equivalent, for one (1) day more than half the contract calendar will constitute a year of experience for this schedule.

Credit for Teaching Experience. The following shall apply for the purpose of determining the annual salary appropriate to a Teacher's teaching experience:
Credit for Teaching Experience. Approved teaching experience will be calculated on September 1st of every year for the purposes of placement on the salary grid. Approved teaching experience is experience as a permanent Teacher, probationary Teacher, long-term occasional Teacher (effective September 1, 2002), and such other experience in teaching as established at the time of hiring. For the purposes of this clause long-term occasional teaching shall be defined as long-term occasional teaching experience earned after January 1st, 1998. It shall be the responsibility of the Teacher to provide the Board with all relevant statements of teaching experience.
Credit for Teaching Experience. In determining the amount of teaching experience, either within or outside the district, less than one-half year of experience will be given no credit while one-half year or more will be considered a full year. Only ECE-12th grade private and/or public school experience will be given credit.
Credit for Teaching Experience. 9.04.01 Annually on September 1, each Member shall be placed at the grid step which reflects all elementary, secondary, equivalent or related (see 9.04.03 below) teaching experience, including Long-Term Occasional Teaching (LTO) teaching experience, based on tenths of a year of teacher experience attained, to the maximum number of years of the respective category of the Member. For the purposes of recognition of the LTO teaching experience noted above, one-tenth (1/10th) year of experience shall be credited for each twenty (20) consecutive days of teaching. Further, it is understood that teaching continuing education credit courses qualifies as "teaching experience", in multiples of twenty (20) days, on the basis that each five (5) hours of continuing education instruction is equivalent to one day's full time teaching, and provided that no Member shall receive more than one full year's credit for a combination of teaching experience within one school year.
