Regular shift assignments shall be posted not less than seven (7) calendar days prior to the beginning of a eight (8) week shift assignment cycle. In the event that officers desire to exchange shifts they may request such exchange not less than seven (7) calendar days prior to the beginning of the shift. No such shift exchange shall be permitted without the express consent of the Division Commander or his designee; provided, however, that such consent will not be arbitrarily withheld. Nothing in this Article shall limit the right of the City to call officers in for duty.
