TIME EMPLOYEES. 10.04 A part-time employee is one who is hired to work thirty and one-half (30.5) hours or less of the weekly work period, exclusive of meal periods, as described in Article 7. Employees who work more than 30.5 hours per week for more than 20 weeks in each calendar year (commencing in 2001) shall be deemed to have become full-time employees.

Temporary employees may be made permanent employees at the discretion of the Employer. If, however, a temporary employee works more than calendar days in his second occurrence of employment in twelve consecutive months, that employee will then become a permanent employee. Such employee will have Union seniority only backdated to his first date of consecutive employment. Benefits will become effective on his first day of the month following the date on which he became permanent. Time worked during one or both day durations of employment as a temporary employee will be credited towards the standard months probationary period.
