Exceptional Service definition

Exceptional Service means that the employee, on his/her own initiative and by his/her own efforts and abilities, is rendering service above the level of proficiency normally expected in the class, or is producing results consistently superior to that normally expected of employees in the class. 4606 “Exceptional Service” does not include unusual acts or results which are caused by unusual conditions beyond the control of the employee to which he/she demonstrated a normal reaction under the circumstances. 4607 Following are some examples of the kinds of performances which might by considered as constituting “exceptional service”.
