Education records definition

Education records means an education record as defined in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and its implementing regulations, 20 USC Section 1232g and 34 CFR Part 99, respectively.

Education records means the type of records covered under the definition of “education records” in 34 CFR Part 99 (the regulations implementing the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, 20 U.S.C. 1232g (FERPA)).

Education records means any information directly related to a student that is recorded in any manner (e.g., handwriting, print, computer media, video or audio tape, film, microfilm, and microfiche) and that is maintained by the school system or persons acting for the school system.

Examples of Education records in a sentence

• To the extent required by law the LEA shall establish reasonable procedures by which a parent, legal guardian, or eligible student may review Education Records and/or Student Data correct erroneous information, and procedures for the transfer of student-generated content to a personal account, consistent with the functionality of services.

• If the LEA has a policy of disclosing Education Records and/or Student Data under FERPA (34 CFR § 99.31(a)(1)), LEA shall include a specification of criteria for determining who constitutes a school official and what constitutes a legitimate educational interest in its annual notification of rights.

• Student Data shall constitute Education Records for the purposes of this DPA, and for the purposes of federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

• Pursuant to such obligations under FERPA, the parties agree to hold Education Records in strict confidence and to not use or disclose information from Education Records except as permitted by law and in accordance with the requirements, if any, of this MOA.

• The parties and their officers, employees, and agents shall use Education Records only for the purposes for which the disclosure was made and solely to the extent necessary to meet the terms and expectations of this MOA.

Education records or “educational records” means those official records, files, and data directly related to a student and maintained by the school or local education agency, including but not limited to records encompassing all the material kept in the student’s cumulative folder such as general identifying data, records of attendance and of academic work completed, records of achievement and results of evaluative tests, health data, disciplinary status, test protocols, and individualized education programs.

Education records means records, files, documents and other materials that: (a) contain information directly related to a student; and (b) are maintained by the District, or by a party acting for the District such as Contractor.
