Volunteer Leave. Subject to operational requirements as determined by the employer, and with at least five (5) business days’ notice, an employee shall be granted one (1) day of paid leave per fiscal year to perform volunteer work for an organization, community activity or charity, other than activities related to the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign, including those determined by or supported by the employer. The notice to the employer shall include the nature of the volunteer work that the employee wishes to perform. This leave may be divided in two (2) periods of three decimal seven five (3.75) hours and be taken on two (2) separate days.
