Mutual Pledge of Accord. Inherent in the relationship between the City and its employees is the obligation of the City to deal justly and fairly with its employees and of the employees to cooperate with their fellow employees and the City in the performance of their public service obligation. It is the purpose of this MOU to promote and ensure harmonious relations, cooperation and understanding between the City and the employees represented by the Association and to establish and maintain proper standards of wages, hours and other terms or conditions of employment.

Mutual Pledge of Accord. Inherent in the relationship between the City and its employees is the obligation of the City to deal justly and fairly with its employees and of the employees to cooperate with their fellow employees and the City in the performance of its public service obligation. In the interest of promoting and ensuring harmonious relations between the City and its employees, authorized representatives of the City and the Union have met and conferred in good faith, exchanging various proposals concerning wages, hours, working conditions, and other terms and conditions of employment of the employees. The authorized representatives of the City and the Union have reached an understanding and agreement as to wages, hours, working conditions, and other terms and conditions of employment of the employees which shall be submitted to the City Council of the City for approval and implementation of the terms and conditions by appropriate ordinance, resolution, or other lawful action.

The Union and its members, and the Employer, agree that every good faith effort shall be made to administer this Agreement in accordance with the true intent of its terms and provisions to the end of maintaining sound Labor Relations. The parties hereto intend by this Agreement to provide a stabilized relationship between them and to insure uninterrupted production of quality products on schedule at competitive costs during the life of said Agreement. It is therefore agreed that during the term of this Agreement, or during any agreed extension period thereof, there shall be no lock-out, strike, including sympathy strikes, slow-down, sit-down, work stoppage or other form of job action by the Union or its members, or by the Employer.
