Junior and Senior High Schools. It is agreed by the parties that the Edmonton Public Library may participate in the Work Experience Education Programs of the Edmonton Public School Board and the Edmonton Catholic School District. It is agreed that participation in this program at the Junior and Senior High School level must adhere to the following criteria:

Junior and Senior High Schools. All Junior and Senior high school teachers shall have one (1) preparation per day equal in length to a regular class period. Every effort will be made to provide Junior high school teachers who are involved in “teaming” with a team planning preparation period per day in addition to their individual planning period. In the event a teaming planning period cannot be accommodated, teachers will be pulled from the team on an equitable rotating basis.
Junior and Senior High Schools. It is agreed by the parties that the Edmonton Public Library may participate in the Work Experience Education Programs of the Edmonton Public School Board and the Edmonton Catholic School District. It is agreed that participation in this program at the Junior and Senior High School level must adhere to the following criteria: The participating student is in at least Grade 9. There will be no more than thirty (30) student placements with the Edmonton Public Library in each calendar year. There will be no more than two (2) student placements at any service point/division at any one (1) time. The participating student will only be scheduled when the Manager or Assistant Manager is present to supervise. When this is not possible, a supervisor must be present. Responsibility for training the participating student lies with the Manager or Assistant Manager. The main job duties will be similar to the job duties of a Student Page, however it is agreed that the purpose of the work experience program is to expose students to a variety of positions and functions within the Edmonton public Library and as a result the student may shadow other positions within the Edmonton Public Library. The Union will be notified of all Junior and Senior high school work experience placements. The Edmonton Public Library may participate in the “National Take Our Kids to Work Day” Program. Any additional work experience placements will be subject to the agreement of the parties. LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING #2 WORK EXPERIENCE EDUCATION PROGRAMS (continued) The terms and conditions of all Work Experience Education Programs, such as wages and working conditions, shall be determined by the Library and institution involved. It is further agreed that the job security of employees included in the scope of this Collective Agreement shall in no way be affected. Junior and Senior High Schools. Teachers will be assigned to work throughout the school year according to the following guidelines based upon no more than sixty (60) minute class periods.

  • Commercial Opportunities 1. The airlines of each Party shall have the right to establish offices in the territory of the other Party for the promotion and sale of air transportation.

  • EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING 1. The State agrees to provide advice and counseling to employees with respect to career advancement opportunities and agency developments which have an impact on their careers.

  • Knowledge and Scholarship in Special Field Each certificated support person demonstrates a depth and breadth of knowledge of theory and content in the special field. He demonstrates an understanding of a knowledge about common school education and the educational milieu grades K12, and demonstrates the ability to integrate the area of specialty into the total school milieu, to wit:

  • Promotional Opportunities Each university shall promote upward mobility of employees by announcing opportunities as they occur. In all cases, it is the employee’s responsibility to make proper application for such positions. If an employee meets the minimum and special qualifications for a position, he/she will be considered.

  • Staff Development Leave (a) An employee shall be granted leave without loss of pay, at her basic rate of pay, to take courses (including related examinations), conferences, conventions, seminars, workshops, symposiums or similar out-of-service programs, at the request of the Employer. The amount of pay received by an employee shall not exceed the full-time daily hours of work as outlined in Article 14.2. When such leave is granted, the Employer shall bear the full cost, including tuition fees, entrance or registration fees, laboratory fees, and course-related books. The Employer shall also reimburse the employee for approved travelling, subsistence, and other legitimate, applicable expenses.
