Instructional Workload. 1. The standard faculty instructional workload shall be a minimum of twenty-nine (29) instructional hours per week and a maximum of thirty-five (35) instructional hours per week with no more than three (3) preparations per semester and no more than five (5) preparations per year.
Instructional Workload. (a) The actual instructional assignment of a faculty member shall be developed via consultation between the faculty member and Xxxx or designate. This consultation shall address educational and professional issues relevant to the course or program in which the faculty member shall be instructing, the demands of any other approved activities in which the faculty member shall be involved and related operational issues.

The full-time instructional workload for non-tenure track bargaining unit members on a 9-month appointment shall be forty-two (42) IWLUs per academic year and fifty-six (56) IWLUs for those on 11- or 12-month appointments. A bargaining unit member’s teaching assignment may include any modality (face-to-face, remote, online, or hybrid). The normal instructional load is 14 IWLUs per term. In order to provide flexibility, bargaining unit members may work with their Department Chair and College Xxxx to adjust their instructional load per term up to a maximum of eighteen (18) IWLUs or a minimum of nine (9) IWLUs per term provided the total is 42 IWLUs per academic year for bargaining unit members on a 9-month appointment, or 56 IWLUs for those on 11- or 12-month appointments. Any exception will require approval by the Xxxx and Xxxxxxx.

Instructional Workload. Faculty will submit an annual Program or “Area” schedule to their supervisor for the upcoming year. Alterations to assignments will be communicated to all area faculty, and any meetings requested by faculty or the supervisor to discuss the schedule or alterations to it will be open to all area faculty. Nothing in this clause will diminish the management right of assignment as provided in Article 4. Faculty with less than twenty (20) contact hours shall schedule office hours equivalent to the difference between their contact hours and twenty (20). Office hours must be posted by each faculty member’s office, convenient for student viewing. Instructional workload shall consistent of the assignment of either credits or contact hours for each faculty member as indicated below.
