Faculty Members means all Hospital staff members who have appointments in a Faculty or Department at the University, including faculty in the categories defined in c), e), f), h) and j) below. h. Health Science faculty means an individual or individuals who are health professional staff or employees of the Hospital and appointed in a Faculty or Ddepartment at the University. Health Science faculty are not Clinical (MD) faculty (physician) or Dentistry faculty.

  • General anesthesia means a drug-induced loss of consciousness during which patients are not arousable, even by painful stimulation. The ability to independently maintain ventilatory function is often impaired. Patients often require assistance in maintaining a patent airway, and positive pressure ventilation may be required because of depressed spontaneous ventilation or drug-induced depression of neuromuscular function. Cardiovascular function may be impaired.
