Grievance Handling. In order to most effectively address grievances, Step 1 grievances shall be reported to the Fire Chief. In the absence of the Fire Chief, the Step 1 grievance shall be reported to the Assistant Military Fire Chief designated to cover for the Fire Chief. Step 2 grievances shall be filed to the Base Fire Xxxxxxxx. Step 2aii grievances are filed to the Commissioner.

Grievance Handling. No grievance handling shall take place at a work site or involve an employee during working hours without the required permission of the Supervisor or designate responsible for the work area(s).

In the event of a grievance, the employee shall always perform his assigned work task and grieve his complaint later, unless the employee reasonably believes that the assignment endangers his immediate safety. Grievances shall not be investigated by the employee or SPOA during working hours unless mutually agreed to by the City and the SPOA.
