Employee Substituting. 1. Any paraeducator who subs for another paraeducator in a higher paying classification for five (5) consecutive days shall be paid (retroactively) at the higher rate. In order for this section to apply, the arrangement must be approved in advance, in writing, by the paraeducator's supervisor. If the supervisor denies approval, the paraeducator shall be expected to continue to do normal duties.
Employee Substituting. Whenever a Cook Manager or Xxxxx is absent for one (1) or more full working days, the Helper or other bargaining unit member who substitutes in his/her place shall be compensated at the rate paid to an employee in the absent employee’s job with the substitute’s years of service.

  • Long-Term Substitutes Long-term substitutes are defined as teachers hired to fill the temporary vacancy of a teacher on leave in the same assignment for more than sixty (60) days. The employment of long-term substitutes shall automatically expire at the end of the period of substitution or upon return to duty of the teacher from an approved leave of absence without any action by the Board or further notice to the teacher.
