Employee Absences. Deductions for personnel during the regular school term for daily absences not covered by provisions of this Agreement shall be made at the rate of 1/196 of the annual contractual salary per day except for those employees who have a greater than or less than 196 day contract year.

Employee Absences. If a professional employee who is absent on account of sickness, leave of absence, or for any other reasons has no earnings due him/her for a pay period, no deductions will be made from that professional employee for that period. These deductions will be made up at the completion of the regularly scheduled dues deduction period, upon notification by the Union.
Employee Absences. Each employee shall have the responsibility to notify the District’s human resources office as soon as possible when said employee is to be absent for illness or is returning from an absence. District procedures for handling absences shall be made available to each employee. An employee shall be responsible for making plans and materials available for the assistance of the substitute. Any employee with a request for absence for illness or emergency not otherwise provided for herein shall discuss the request for the absence with the appropriate supervisor. If approved, the supervisor shall arrange for a substitute, which shall be paid by the District. Any absence, except as otherwise provided in this Agreement, shall be deducted pro rata as the number of days absent relates to the number of contracted days.

Such notification shall specify the nature, reasons, and expected duration for such absence. It is an employee's obligation to justify such absence which, at the request of the Company, (where sickness is claimed) will require the employee to produce a doctor's certificate. When an employee is required to produce a doctor’s certificate, the note must be evidence of the employee’s need to be absent in order to be considered as justification for the absence. The Company will not request a note where it could have no probative value such as after an absence where the employee has not seen a doctor; where an employee has maintained that he saw a doctor during his absence where sickness is claimed, the Company may properly request a doctor’s note. Failure to notify or justify any absence shall constitute an unjustifiable absence.

Employee Absences. Employer will communicate the established Absenteeism and Tardiness Control Policy that will specify the number of occurrences at which discipline will be issued for excessive absenteeism, excessive tardiness/early departure and no call/no show absences.
Employee Absences a) Student and casual employees are required to work all scheduled shifts, unless they are sick and/or disabled, or they are otherwise unable to do so. Where a student or casual employee is absent because of illness and/or injury, he/she must report by phone or otherwise to his/her immediate supervisor.
Employee Absences. When it is necessary to report an unanticipated absence from work, employees are to notify their supervisor and the Director of Business Services as soon as this absence is known. This may be done via email or phone message. Employees will also be required to log in their absences on the school-designated employee attendance system. Absences due to illness of three (3) consecutive workdays will require medical documentation received by your supervisor prior to the employee’s return to work. Medical documentation may also be requested if the employee asks for a reasonable accommodation regarding attendance or hours worked because of a physical or mental impairment that could meet the definition of disability under state or federal law. Absences due to illness or doctor’s appointment before or after holidays or school vacations will require a physician’s certificate submitted to the Business Office to use accrued time. GCVS reserves the right to request a physician’s note to substantiate the reason for any absence. Failure to submit physician certificates as outlined above are considered Not Approved absences and will subject the employee to loss of pay and/or corrective action, up to and including termination.
