Common use of Carer’s Leave Clause in Contracts

Carer’s Leave. An employee with responsibilities in relation to either members of their immediate family, or members of their household, who need their care may use accrued personal leave to provide care or support for them when they are ill. Where the employee has used all available sick leave, the employee may take an additional two (2) days unpaid leave per occasion. The employee shall provide proof to the company, by way of medical certificate, of the illness or injury.

Where the employee has used all available sick leave, the employee may take an additional two (2) days unpaid leave per occasion. The employee shall provide proof to the company, by way a member of medical certificate, his/her immediate family or a member of the Employee’s household who requires care or support because of personal illness or injuryinjury or an unexpected emergency affecting that member.
