Assigned Time and Preparation Time. (a) All full-time teachers will be assigned the equivalent of six (6) timetabled classes.

Preparation Time 1. Each full-time elementary teacher shall receive 100 minutes of preparation time per week scheduled in accordance with the Previous Collective Agreement.
Prep Time For full day 10-month (184 day) or 12-month (223 day) teachers, 45 minutes of uninterrupted daily prep time will be provided to each teacher to be used for professional activities (for example, classroom preparations, parent conferences, and peer consultations).
Elementary Preparation Time The Board shall provide a minimum of 180 minutes per five-day week of preparation time for each elementary teacher. Special circumstances that alter this schedule will not exceed two (2) times per year, per teacher. Preparation time for part-time elementary teachers shall be pro-rated on the basis of this allotment. 30 minute lunches, recesses and before and after school time shall not count as part of this time.
Full-Time and Part-Time An employee who is required to have a medical examination and/or produce a doctor’s certificate pursuant to this agreement, shall be reimbursed by the employer for such expense upon producing a proper receipt. Comp Time In lieu of payment for overtime hours worked, the employee may request to take compensatory time off. Approval shall be at the discretion of the Department Head. If the request is approved by the Department Head, one and one-half (1 2) hours of compensatory time shall be credited for each overtime hour worked. A maximum accrual of compensatory time shall be forty (40) hours. Flex Time. The County recognizes and supports the concept of Flex time. Flex time is allowed within the work week as it is defined in Article 20, Section 2 of this contract. If an employee requests, an employee and their department head may agree to allow an employee to flex their schedule. However, in some departments and under some circumstances flex time may not be feasible and will not be permitted. No employee shall be required to take flex time off in order to avoid the payment of overtime or as a condition of continued employment.
