Unit Member definition

Unit Member refers to any employee who is included in the bargaining unit as defined in Article II.
Unit Member means any employee under contract to the "District", including part-time and temporary, who is included in the appropriate unit as defined in Article II and therefore covered by the terms and provisions of this Agreement.

  • Definitions: Providing a legal defense means that the Employer appoints at its expense counsel to represent a Bargaining Unit Member in a legal action.

  • If the Bargaining Unit Member objects to the attorney provided by the Employer, the following process for selection of a defense attorney shall prevail: The Commissioner of the Department of Corrections and the Attorney General shall meet with the Bargaining Unit Member and/or a representative of the Association in an effort to select an attorney who shall represent the Bargaining Unit Member.

  • A Bargaining Unit Member may not work in excess of sixteen (16) hours within one (1) twenty-four (24) hour period except in an emergency.

  • The Employer will provide a legal defense to a Bargaining Unit Member named as a defendant or respondent in a legal action if the Bargaining Unit Member was acting within the scope of the Bargaining Unit Member’s office or employment at the time of the incident out of which the action arose as follows: the Bargaining Unit Member shall have the right to counsel; however, the Employer shall have the right to determine which attorney will represent the Bargaining Unit Member.

  • Indemnification means the Employer’s payment of a judgment or legal obligation that a Bargaining Unit Member incurred as a result of the Bargaining Unit Member’s duties for the Employer.

Unit Member refer to Article II.
Unit Member refers to any regular certificated employee of the District covered by this Agreement. Temporary, probationary or permanent, part-time or full-time classroom teachers including, but not limited to, psychologists, nurses, speech and language specialists, resource specialist teachers, special day class teachers, counselors, adaptive P.E. specialist, reading specialists, and teachers of the gifted are considered to be unit members.
