THE PARENTS. Parental support and involvement in the Club are essential. Parents must ensure that their child attends all team events (practices, games, meetings, etc.). We understand there will be times when conflicts cannot be avoided and that your son or daughter simply cannot attend a team event. The Club requires your communication, planning, and understanding so we can minimize conflicts. It is the team’s responsibility to present a periodic schedule to allow time for your planning. When parents or players have an unavoidable conflict, the Club expects timely communication to allow the Club or team adequate time to make any possible adjustments. The coach/manager will make final decisions as to scheduling after careful consideration of the needs of the team.

If players are to make a quality commitment to the Club and their team, parents must see to it that players attend all possible Club and team functions (practices, meetings, games, etc). There will be time conflicts that cannot be avoided, and other more important events occur. The Club requires your communication, planning and understanding so we can minimize conflicts. It is the Club’s responsibility to present a periodic schedule to allow time for your planning. When parents or players have unavoidable conflicts, the Club expects timely communications to see if the Club or team can make any necessary adjustments. The Director of Coaching or Team Coach will make final decisions on scheduling and adjustments after careful consideration of your needs and those of the Club or team. SIDELINE COACHING: We ask that there be no coaching by parents. No matter how good your intentions are, we insist there be no shouting instructions to your son/daughter or yelling (complaining) to officials during games. Your vocal support and positive encouragement are welcome after a good play. It is important that players are not distracted at practices or during games, and that players are given only one set of instructions by one voice during this time. Parents and players are required to sign a Code of Conduct agreement prior to the start of league play. Parents, feel free to communicate and ask questions about your child. Please take the initiative to teach your child to speak up and communicate for themselves whenever possible.

Any parent who is alleged to have disrespected or dishonored the Club, its policies or programs, any of the coaches, trainers or assistant coaches of FFSC, or any players of FFSC or any other soccer club, including their own son or daughter who is a playing member of FFSC. Any parent who is alleged to have disrespected or dishonored other team member Parents or Parents of other players of FFSC or other soccer clubs, shall meet with the FFSC Board of Directors, if requested by the board. Important Note: There shall be no recruiting of players from any FFSC existing team by any coach, parent, member, associate or individual, directly or indirectly, by any other FFSC team. Any participant found soliciting, directly or indirectly, Parents, Players and/or teams to leave FFSC individually or as a Team, shall be subject to disciplinary action, including removal from any further participation in FFSC. Inappropriate behavior by a Parent as determined by the BOD may result in disciplinary action, including removal from participation in the Club. SIDELINE COACHING: There will be NO coaching by Parents and/or player supporters. Your vocal support and positive encouragement are welcomed. Screaming “Go” or “Shoot” are interpreted as instructions, and as such, are not permitted. THE PARENTS. As a parent of an athlete of the Apex Ski Club, I will strive to:  be a supportive advocate for my son or daughter as an athlete participating in the ski program.  monitor my conveyed expectations of my son or daughter’s performance and recognize the adverse effect that an athlete may experience if he or she is not able to meet the parents’ expectations.  remember that children ski for FUN.  applaud effort and good racing as well as success.  let the coach do their job and not interfere with the coach or athlete by telling them what to do  keep a respectful distance from coaches during training on the hill as they are focused on the athletes.  ensure that my son or daughter arrives for training on time, physically and mentally prepared to follow coaches’ instruction for the training or race day.  ensure satisfactory nutrition, hydration and clothing of the athlete (as directed by the coaching staff).  always respect the technical officials’ decisions.  encourage the athletes to respect the competition, technical officials and volunteers.  be respectful that the race corral is for athletes and coaches and should be an independent space free of parent intervention.  respectfully communicate with coaches as required  communicate with the Alpine Chair regarding any questions on the training plan, calendar, and general program information; share any feedback, ideas and concerns.  communicate with the President on board related matters.  be a positive influence in the club, by setting the example for the athletes.  commit to the specified fundraising activities that are a requirement of a ski club family.  support team and program sponsors where possible.  follow through on mandatory volunteerism at their son or daughter’s races at home, and when possible, at host clubs’ events.  obey all BC Alpine Code of Conduct requirements. xxxx://xxxxxxxx.xxx/files/Policy_Files/  understand that failure to obey the Codes of Conduct may lead to loss of privileges and potentially the loss of membership in the club. THE PARENTS. I/We will try to:  See that my child goes to School regularly and properly equipped.  Let the School know about any concerns or problems that might affect my child’s work or behaviour.  Support the School’s policies and guidelines for behaviour.  Support my child in opportunities for home learning.  Attend my child’s Annual Review and discussions about my child’s progress.  Get to know about my child’s life at Xxxxxxxx School.  Inform the School via prescription label or Doctor’s letter of prescription changes, if my child is taking medication.  Inform the School of reasons for absence as soon as possible and if possible the extent of the child’s absence.  Follow DfE guidelines regarding school attendance regulations.  Ensure that, if my child suffers from sickness and diarrhoea, they will not return to school until 48 hours after the last incident.

These instances should not be blown out of proportion or discussed with other families, either in the Club or outside of the Club. To avoid any and all problems that may occur in team sports at a youth level, we feel it is very important to discuss any and all potential problems with the Team Coach and if requested by the parent, with NPSC Board Members Any parent, who is consistently disrespecting the program and/or found dishonoring any Club policies will be asked to meet with the NPSC Board Members, the Team Coach and Team Manager. Please note that inappropriate behavior by a Parent can lead to the expulsion of their son/daughter. NPSC prides itself for offering club soccer level of play at a reasonable cost to families. The main reason the Club can fiscally operate as it does, is because of our annual Thousand Oaks Classic tournament, after which the Club offers a profit-sharing percentage back to its Teams.
